Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) is a marketing automation platform built for B2B teams already using Salesforce. Its integration with Salesforce connects sales and marketing data directly—lead tracking, nurturing, and conversion workflows pull from the same system. The platform handles email automation, lead scoring, segmentation, ...Read more

Pardot pros and cons

  • Full marketing suite covering automation, lead scoring, segmentation, and campaign execution.

  • Direct Salesforce CRM integration gives unified pipeline visibility across sales and marketing.

  • Drag-and-drop tools for landing pages and emails work without technical expertise.

  • Analytics and reporting let teams optimize campaigns and track performance.

  • Steep learning curve; custom branding and advanced features require technical expertise.

  • Pricing is prohibitive for small and mid-sized businesses.

Very robust with strong Salesforce integration

What do you like best? We used an open source marketing automation tool that wasn't ready for prime time. We pay a little more for Pardot, but we can be 100% sure that it will integrate with Salesforce, which is important to us. We've built integrations that allow us to trigger sales activities based on campaign-level scoring. It's worked to drive new leads for us. What do you dislike? The integration with Salesforce isn't as intuitive as you might think. (One example: Salesforce has ...

Great User Interface, Easy to Use, Easy to Learn

What do you like best? Everything about Pardot is intuitive and easy to learn. Nearly everything you would need to do to accomplish a task is in the same place, unlike other programs that separate out the design and campaign sections and require multiple clicks to accomplish something small. I especially love the Engagement Studio, which makes it extremely easy to set up complex nurture tracks. What do you dislike? I wish it was easier to get support. The chat feature is very helpful, ...

Great tool for ongoing prospect & client engagement

What do you like best? The ability to use "Engagement Studio" which automates the new prospect education/sales process. Basically, we have a flow chart of a sales process & we can drop in a new prospect to go through that and the emails they receive & alerts I get are based on their activity. What do you dislike? There are "connectors" for social media such as LinkedIn and it seems like we need to reverify them on a regular basis. I would think that they could ask us to review them ...

Best API Integration

What do you like best? After assessing several marketing automation services, we chose Pardot to fill our needs. They were the only solution of those we reviewed that had the advanced API necessary to integrate with our home-grown publishing system. Their API has proven flexible and timely. I also appreciate the simplicity of constructing engagement studios for multi-email campaigns, the design and html views for their email template editor, and the easy integration with Salesforce. ...
