Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) is a marketing automation platform built for B2B teams already using Salesforce. Its integration with Salesforce connects sales and marketing data directly—lead tracking, nurturing, and conversion workflows pull from the same system. The platform handles email automation, lead scoring, segmentation, ...Read more

Pardot pros and cons

  • Full marketing suite covering automation, lead scoring, segmentation, and campaign execution.

  • Direct Salesforce CRM integration gives unified pipeline visibility across sales and marketing.

  • Drag-and-drop tools for landing pages and emails work without technical expertise.

  • Analytics and reporting let teams optimize campaigns and track performance.

  • Steep learning curve; custom branding and advanced features require technical expertise.

  • Pricing is prohibitive for small and mid-sized businesses.

Great as a light CRM tool

What do you like best? I like how you can drill down into a prospect pretty well, and the interface is quite nice. It's easy to use and I like how you can make lists easily, have automation rules, create emails, send test emails, store files and images etc. What do you dislike? When creating emails, editing the HTML takes you to a separate screen. This means you cant see any changes you make in real time (unlike something like Litmus, where when you make a change to the html, the ...

Account Based Selling/Follow-Ups

What do you like best? I like that it has a marketing automation type feature. What do you dislike? I wanted to be able to send emails through this tool, but it was not going to have great deliverability. Recommendations to others considering the product Please consider improving deliverability rates. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We wanted to be able to use it to have automated follow-ups and a new source to send ...

Solid, Entry Level Email Marketing Platform

What do you like best? Although not as sophisticated as Marketo in terms of email development, automation or reporting, Pardot does have a very simple interface and one that is easy to use. In addition, importing email templates and landing page templates is a breeze. What do you dislike? The software is easy to use but not tremendously easy to integrate with when it comes to websites. For example, developing forms for Pardot landing pages is a snap but getting them to integrate with ...

Better than average marketing automation platform

What do you like best? I really like the engagement studio and the ability to create custom redirect links. Email is pretty good on Pardot, though it could be refined. I appreciate the ability to use my own CMS, and the integration with Salesforce works well for our business. What do you dislike? I hate the reporting. It's extremely difficult to see what is working and what is not working at a high level. I added Wave reporting, but it's still not clear, and I can't drill down into the ...

OK marketing automation with great Customer Service

What do you like best? The UX/UI is elegant with great automation features -- drip, landing pages, forms -- and OK integration with Salesforce. This is a good system for beginners, but has significant limitations for anyone wanting to do more with landing pages, AdWords, or really anything outside the Pardot/Salesforce ecosystem. What do you dislike? If you're with an offshore support person, turnaround time is slow. No responsive landing pages Difficult to use forms/form ...

I just don't get it. Second rate software.

What do you like best? Pardot doesn't break the bank I suppose, and some of the structure can help a marketing automation novice. I.e. being forced to associate a form with a campaign. It's pretty easy to add follow up actions on forms. The AdWords integration is solid. What do you dislike? The email and landing page builders are absolute jokes. You need a developer in house to setup anything decent. The drip campaigns are really unintuitive, anything beyond a couple simple steps is a ...
