Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Notion has completely transformed the way I organize, collaborate, and manage information across projects and teams. It’s an incredibly powerful and flexible tool that functions as a knowledge base, document library, and task manager all in one. Its customization capabilities let me build anything from CRM systems to editorial calendars without writing a single ...Read more

Notion pros and cons

  • Notion seamlessly combines note-taking, task management, knowledge base, and project collaboration into one intuitive platform, eliminating the need for switching between multiple apps.

  • Users can tailor pages and workflows with databases, Kanban boards, calendars, and templates to suit personal or team needs, promoting efficiency and clarity.

  • Real-time editing, shared workspaces, comments, and mentions make collaboration smooth and ideal for distributed teams.

  • Every piece of content is indexed and instantly searchable, making it easy to locate documents, tasks, or even specific discussions quickly.

  • Notion’s performance in offline mode is subpar, which may frustrate users who frequently work without internet access.

  • While it integrates with tools like Zapier, Notion lacks built-in automation and time tracking, which could limit its use in more complex workflow environments.

Very flexible interface. Short hand commands make this product a breeze!

What do you like best? I like that this option functions a lot like a cross between slack and one note. There are two sections you can keep your personal notes apart from a shared workspace. The backslash option allows you to quickly write your notes & choose different functionalities. What do you dislike? The option to have it as a webpage vs. just an app on my desktop. I wish it was easier to switch back and forth between these formats. What business problems are you solving with the ...

Really useful for storing everything you need in once place, especially company related information.

What do you like best? It's very simple and intuitive to use. Adding new content is straight forward and easy to do. The in-built editor is relatively simple, but provides more than enough for adding content. We use it to keep company information available, as well as other key information. What do you dislike? It can be easy to "disappear down the rabbit hole" so to speak, due to the sheer level of customisation. However, if you keep organised and try not to get carried away, it is easy ...

Notion

What do you like best? Most of the features are clear and easy to use The flexibility to define and track a variety of metrics. Clean design. Powerful building blocks allow you to create any metric you can dream up. I'm currently using Notion to organize information about leads and it's been overly intuitive and fun to use. What do you dislike? Not a whole lot to say about dislikes, sometimes the mobile app crashes but thats to be expected as a new product. Recommendations to ...

Just about my favorite thing ever

What do you like best? Notion is so dreamy, it's my favorite bit of software. It's a perfectly designed note-taking app, and so much more. Once you're on a paid tier, you get unlimited storage, so you can write as much content as you need. You can manage tasks better than any other board tool I've used. What do you dislike? Honestly nothing. I guess there's always room for more embed types and options. Recommendations to others considering the product Do it What business problems are you ...

Great project managment.

What do you like best? This proivdes a great overall picture and then allows you bring it down to the single pieces and see each step of the project. It is very good interface but takes time and thinking through projects to get it fully set up. What do you dislike? The set up is intensive. It took our project manager about two months to get it fully functional for our projects. Recommendations to others considering the product It takes a while to import and set up all of your ...

Easy Collaboration Tool and Document Sharing

What do you like best? I love that I can import documents from Google Drive and Trello to make our collaborations easier! We all use a different method to keep our notes in order, so instead of having to copy and paste things over into another source, it makes it nice that we can just add them all together. What do you dislike? It's a bit of a bland interface and sometimes its easy to lose track of documents - it would be awesome to have tabs to separate certain things (like budgets to ...

A great way to optimize work processes

What do you like best? I love how convenient Notion makes it to compile and access information from different sources What do you dislike? I think the app could be more usee friendly. I’ve also had issues with it crashing occasionally during use. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We use the app to replace existing software and compile data into one place

Excellent tool for collaboration and sharing key information internally

What do you like best? We use Notion as a place to keep company related information, procedures and policies. The ability to quickly and easily make articles, guides etc., is ideally suited to our needs. What do you dislike? The macOS app can be a little awkward at times. Opening links (shared in our Slack groups opens the page in a web browser instead - a little annoying and there is no quick way to overcome this from what I could see. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

It's really fantastic application

What do you like best? I love the sophisticated AI and it's so much in detail. It's not too difficult to use although you need to get your hands on. If you’re looking for a note-taking alternative or you just enjoy putting productivity software through its paces, Notion is well worth a look. It's not that expensive either. What do you dislike? I believe that their customer support team may be lacking behind a but but other than that, all's good. Recommendations to others considering the ...
