Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Moonfruit, once hailed for its accessible and user-friendly website-building tools, has faced significant challenges over the past year. Many long-standing customers have expressed frustration over the company's handling of the Adobe Flash discontinuation, which rendered websites temporarily uneditable and disrupted services for months. Migration to an ...Read more

Moonfruit pros and cons

  • Long-term customers appreciated the platform's ease of use and affordability in its earlier years.

  • Some users found the "Flash fix" effective after proper installation, restoring editing functions.

  • Outdated platform with poor adaptability to modern technologies; reliance on Flash caused a major service disruption.

  • Extremely delayed response to Flash's end-of-life transition, leaving users unable to edit their websites for months.

Moving my Customer's Sites to Wix

I'd been building websites in Moonfruit since 2000, it was once an excellent option for resellers and freelancers like myself. Unfortunately, it has fallen behind at every step. If you are looking for a DIY platform builder look to Wix, Squarespace, Weebly, Shopify and so on.I have been porting Moonfruit websites over to Wix for the last 12 months, currently demand is at a high. Must tell you something?

Moon Flash editor partial solution

Hi, just an updated as of today 24 Jan, I can still edit my site using a new chromebook (running chrome 87) it allow you to run one time which gets you in. also I tested an old Chromebook, which has gone past Googles end of life date so it no longer gets updates, with that asks if you want to run flash and lets you in. Chrome 88 is now rolling out (which removes flash) so am guessing th enew chromebook wont run flash soon, but maybe the old one will as it doesnt get updates.

Been with moonfruit for over 13 yrs...but

Been with moonfruit for over 13 yrs, but enough is enough! Sitting down now to spend the weekend re-making my websites with another provider. Moonfruit had more than enough notice to prepare for flash ending. They left it till right the last minute and the new editor doesn't work. It's been 2 weeks now without being able to edit my sites! I suspect Moonfruit won't be around much longer with this level of service, Worried that they will just dissapear leaving me with no active sites so I'm off.

Moonfruit editing.

I also have used Moonfruit for years and I am highly frustrated with the current situation regarding editing. Fortunately my site is non commercial but if it was this would be unacceptable. I have asked them to add notes to apologise to readers which have been done promptly but we need to know from the MD or CEO what's going on and when will it be fixed?

AFTER YEARS WITH MOONFRUIT I AM TEMPTED TO LEAVE

I have been with Moonfruit for years, but have now been unable to edit my websites for over a week. Chat offered to do it for me but that is impossible with a lot of changes to make. To add insult to injury, the day after it stopped working they took £159 from my credit card for my annual fee. I am getting to the point I feel like asking my card company to refund me for a faulty product.

I have used Moonfruit for years

I have used Moonfruit for years, but always had worries when the end of flash was approaching, now since 11th January I have been unable to edit my complex site, and there is no way that I am going to send anything through to them to place live, I don't know what else to do apart from to look at another provider, but it will take a long time to change everything over onto a new provider

disgraceful

Well yet again Moonfruit has let us all down it would seem. Adobe flash player as we have all been reminded has come to its end of life December 2020..... so why on earth hasn't moonfruit got its act together and been able to provide us with a non flash editor. From the 11th January Moonfruit has provided zero service.... and their contingency plan is for us to send in website amendments via messages on the online chat... Jeez come on Moonfruit .... you are steadily setting up for your ...

MOONFRUIT HAS BEEN DOWN FOR DAYS

I cannot log into Moonfruit to make serious changes to my website. This has been going on for days, now! A popup appears, telling me that I must use adobe flash....but adobe flash does not exist anymore! Moonfruit were well aware that Adobe Flash was stopping in Dec 2020, and its customers were assured that this would not be a problem if we migrated to another version of moonfruit....following instructions! Guess what, folks! You cannot log into moonfruit to make alterations to your website. ...

If I could give them Zero stars I would. Totally incompetent and now that their flash editor no longer working cannot update our site. Was supposed to have the new editor live 11 Jan 2021. guess what it isn't. I will be migrating to another vendor and demand my money back...as should everybody
