"Publisher...limitations to creativity"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? Publisher is a good program for quick jobs that don't require much in the way of art or critical placement of text. If you need to knock out a quick post card or invite this program is fine. If you don't want to deal with the steeper learning curve of InDesign this program will work well for you. I spent many years working with this to create brochures, invitations, and other marketing collateral and I found myself fighting the program when I ...

"So far it's been nothing but positive, save a few bugs here and there."

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? All the different available templates, clip art, and the ability to customize without being too complex. It's relatively easy if you know how to do it, the grid system keeps everything square, and you can pop something professional looking out in under 10 minuets. What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? It is a pain in the butt to export it into any other program, the format changes, and so does the size for some unforeseeable reason. ...

"Publisher is easy to use and produces professional results"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? I like the ease of use with for inserting text, images and photos. I used publisher to create a monthly newsletter for the Hernando County Audubon and found it quick and easy to rearrange text and photos to get them to fit the page just right. What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? Off hand I cannot think of anything that I dislike about Microsoft Publisher. What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting ...

"Simple to Use"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? Great for beginners or advanced users. Learning curve is less steep than with other graphics tools; it uses many of the same keyboard shortcuts as MS Office Suite products. It's more flexible than MS Word to lay out flyers, newsletters, invitations, etc. (which many non-graphics people use), yet not as complicated as Adobe Illustrator. While a project can begin with pre-made templates, page parts, borders, shapes, and themes, it can also be ...

"A relatively quick publishing solution for basic printed media"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? In word word, fast. MS Publisher is fast. One can setup a simple document relatively quickly with little tinkering and produce a short newsletter or document in minutes. While the program may not offer as many professional functions as Adobe InDesign, it makes up with its ease of use. The interface is easy to use and learn while it has a relatively light footprint for system resources, making it usable even on older computers. For basic ...

"Easy to use for simple graphics projects"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? I liked that it was easy to use and had text editing capabilities that were the same level as Microsoft Word, but flexible enough to be used for graphic design. What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? It was sufficient for one page ads and small posters, but anything more detailed I needed Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator. But for administrative task, it was great. What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting ...

"Works for smaller projects"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? I like the ability to quickly grab some images and predetermined text and toss it on the page for a quick deadline turn around. I also love the fact I can make something quickly and hand it off knowing that publisher is easy to use for pretty much anyone. What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? The restrictiveness of the software overall. I guess this is just my opinion but it feels kid like coming from InDesign. Recommendations to ...

"A novice level desktop publisher for novices"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? Microsoft Publisher is definitely simple to use (if you're familiar with Microsoft's other Office products). Additionally, a default but adequate set of clip art helps you decorate you design. But the best thing about Publisher is its huge online library of templates for almost any desktop publishing need. Bonus: Publisher works well with the MS Office Suite What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? Publisher only has rudimentary ...

"Awesome Experience!"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? I love the 'arrange' feature of the drawing tools (Bring Forward / Send Backward) which is much more efficient to use, in my opinion, than an equivalent layer feature of a photo-editing software. Saves time when doing any layout works for banners, poster, etc. I also love the built-in layout suggestions for different print projects. What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? Probably that least that I like is how limited the features are ...

"User Friendly Microsoft Publisher"

What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher? Very easy to use! As a designer I would have preferred using Indesign however the print shop required Publisher and it was very easy to use. What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher? I really did not dislike it. I was required to use this product because of the print shop. What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you? Ease of use
