Small Team Projects
What do you like best? Our small department decided to use it for small tasks around the office. It is relatively easy to use. Just about anyone can be a project manager. It seems to be the industry standard and we already use a host of other Microsoft tools. (We use Google too What do you dislike? This not good for project execution, just project planning. I thought it could be a little more user friendly. One of my colleagues knew how it worked so that was a great help. ...

Sometimes the basics of project management elude us when there's no academic background and only the empiric one's there. That's when project works perfect for you. Easy to learn and use. If You Are A Project Manager, Then You'll Need This Tool!
What do you like best? There is not another tool on the market that is as comprehensive as MS Project for project management. It knows how project managers think - and the capabilities are built into the tool to handle proper Work Breakdown Structures (WBS, task dependencies, resource leveling, and a number of canned reporting features that support progress, costs, and resources. MS Project 2013 has done a nice job in updating the older interface. What do you dislike? Users need MS ...

Not a horrible project planning tool but not super functional
What do you like best? Comes with the office suite and is compatible with everything else on my desktop What do you dislike? Hard to set up - not very user friendly and since 2003 basically Microsoft has made their products less intuitive and user friendly - at least in my experience. What took me 1 click before now takes me 3-4 or I can't even find what I am looking for. I honestly prefer tracking on a spreadsheet to this for my projects. Sad but true. Recommendations to others ...

Very heavy, has a learning curve, not as intuitive as some lighter weight project management tools Recommendations to others considering the product If you are a serious PM this is the tool to use, but not meant for non-pms and casual users.

Use it for every major project
What do you like best? Even with other dedicated project management tools, I always find myself falling back on MS Project for all of my project management. It is very robust and relatively easy to use (once you understand some of the core concepts with relations etc. What do you dislike? Some of the printing options are a little lame and my biggest annoyance is when I do one thing wrong & it screws up the whole project plan--but hey, that's why we back up, right? Recommendations to ...
