Project schedules are key to accurate estimates
What do you like best? I like the Gant chart feature. The Gant chart, when used at a site meeting with an Owner really visually conveys the reality of the project by showing the entire timeline and not just a segment in a calendar view. What do you dislike? Its price is a bit steep. Our company doesn't provide Project to all employees and some balk at the price which means not all of our people are using it. Recommendations to others considering the product I can only speak as it ...

How to efficiently manage things.
What do you like best? The part that I like the best, is the portfolio management option. It helps me to keep in check that which resources I can pull off and when I can pull off. What do you dislike? Typical seven layer stack based management technique still in use. Recommendations to others considering the product Keep patience, they will soon introduce a new way of managing the project, like we use git. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have ...

Very complete, but also complex to use
What do you like best? The different views, ability to check project status through earned-value etc. views. What do you dislike? High complexity and not very user friendly. You have to really know how it behaves and works, and in big projects (lots of resources, tasks it is common to get stuff mixed up. Recommendations to others considering the product Keep backups when you are interacting. Sometimes you do stuff with impact, don't notice the impact, have to go back to a ...

Great for a centralized approach
What do you like best? I like the way that Microsoft allows a group of people or company to organize things in a central location - the design and incorporation is all centralized. It's flexible and handy to many people in different areas of the country or on site. I love that it functions with tools we already use like office, etc. It wasn't something that had a learning curve that the average person couldn't achieve. I also appreciated the use of the Cloud for the online version of ...

Even Used MS Project To Plan My Wedding
What do you like best? MS Project is very useful when managing large scale/complex projects, especially when connecting tasks, identifying constraints, and analyze schedule changes. What do you dislike? The price for MS Project is quite hefty for smaller sites. There are other software out there that can virtually do the same thing for a much lower price. Also, my company does not use Skype or Office 365 (all software is downloaded locally so we do not have the benefit of the ...

Great tool for sprint planning
What do you like best? I like how easy it is to copy and paste a task list from Excel in to Project. I usually start with Excel and then move to Project when I need to start setting dates and assigning people to each task. The way an update made to a task date automatically cascades to all its child items is very helpful but it would be nice if there was more guidance around how that works as sometimes it isn't intuitive. What do you dislike? The learning curve for a first time user ...
