I use project to create my schedules and run certain reports for my team
What do you like best? Projects ability to create clean clear road maps. It's flexibility in adapting to changes and its user friendliness What do you dislike? Sometimes you have to force an entry, as project calculates and makes recommendations for you. Can be annoying at times but certainly not a deal breaker. Recommendations to others considering the product Embrace it, the more you use the project, the more proficient you'll become and it gets easier. What business problems ...

Microsoft Project
What do you like best? Built in dashboards and reporting for costing, budgets, etc. What do you dislike? Cannot manage the WHOLE project using this tool. I need a place for managing in a distributed manner the risks, issues and action items associated with a distributed project team. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Managing projects to a timeline and cost.

Good but being eclipsed by new solutions
What do you like best? Not too hard to use if you are familiar with Office products. It does what it's supposed to do, hard stop. Nothing awesome, nothing amazing, it just gets the job done if you really need it. What do you dislike? Extra cost on top of normal office package, this should be included. As well the UI/UX is dated and more complex than needed. Solutions like basecamp will quickly take Project over, in my opinion. It's too clunky to get teams really on board. The ...

Straightforward Schedule Management
What do you like best? Straightforward, easy to use, Microsoft interface, Excel compatible. Also useful for resource/cost management. What do you dislike? Not much. I think that I may still be new enough to the program that I haven't found any major shortcomings. Recommendations to others considering the product If you're hesitant because you're more familiar with Excel, just give it a try and stick to it for a little while. It's very much worth it. What business problems are you ...

Using this helped me complete my projects on time and in a detailed manner.
What do you like best? I liked the tools available to help me plan my calendar. I use it to assign personnel to different projects. What do you dislike? I dislike the transition from different projects because when it goes from different years' versions, sometimes the data will get jumbled. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Assigning personnel and not going over budget with the hours. Making sure we have allocated enough time ...

Microsoft Project Review
What do you like best? I'm a big fan of MS Project, primarily due to the many charts/graphs that are available. The Gantt chart functionality works well and the features are intuitive. Additionally, the key functions and presentation is consistent with other MS Office applications. I've not found a comparable project management software suite that is such a strong blend of simplicity and features. What do you dislike? There's a significant learning curves associated with the project, ...

What do you like best? Ease of integration with Microsoft Project, residing on SharePoint server makes it easy for reporting. Moving to cloud with Office 365 makes it much better to access from any place. What do you dislike? Demand management and project prioritization can be more seamless. Timesheet features needs lots of improvement. Workflows need simplification. Recommendations to others considering the product Upgrade to 2013 version and move towards Office 365. Cloud ...

Microsoft Project is a very useful tool for organizing and presenting information.
What do you like best? Microsoft Project can be easily integrated with other Microsoft products like Excel and Word. What do you dislike? Since it is a desktop application that is offline, the project data file is stored locally and must always be backed up by the user. Recommendations to others considering the product It takes some time to learn how to use the software, so watching a training video may help with the steep learning curve. What business problems are you solving ...

Project Coordinator
What do you like best? The integration between SharePoint and MS Project. Has the potential to create a very collaborative environment if the cloud is used. What do you dislike? It probably can do a lot more than how I've been trained to use it. Cannot use the integration with SharePoint and MS Project because it's web based and can pose security risks for the company. Therefore MS Project is primarily used for scheduling and WBS. Recommendations to others considering the product ...

Project Management, but only Project Management
What do you like best? Microsoft Project 2013 does what it does best, manages projects. It has gotten better with further integration with SharePoint (assuming you have the ability to integrate or use Project Server/Online and allows for a touch better of collaboration with OneDrive integration (add-ons can be used for other cloud based services. Another aspect that was nice was creating the resource pool and being able to estimate schedules and budgets more accurately. It will require ...
