We're impressed by Azure's rapid growth, innovation and openness

What do you like best? Azure's PaaS continues to grow in ways that helps us with scalability, availability, etc. at much lower complexity and cost. We are able to fill in with IaaS pieces as needed without dealing with multiple vendors. Our developers don't like situations requiring us to go back to how we did things before because of the extra time and overhead associated. What do you dislike? As an ISV we would like to see more multi-tenancy inherent in the system. Recommendations to ...

Experienced Azure Developer

What do you like best? It is very easy to setup and deploy a new website. The manageability over other hosted services is much better and scale ability is just a couple of mouse clicks to run multiple instances. What do you dislike? The new portal is pretty but the current one is my first choice because it is cleaner and easier to use. Recommendations to others considering the product Definitely give a thorough evaluation. I use it for work and for personal projects and compared to other ...

Great cloud provider

What do you like best? Microsoft Azure platform has been growing a lot over the last years. Microsoft is investing a lot on it as a key factor of his cloud business, both for internal and external products. The amount of support that you can find online is continuously growing as more people start to use and gain knowledge on the platform. What I like the most is how Microsoft is continuously pushing new features to its platform, and its fully integration with Visual Studio IDE What do you ...

Azure server setup is quick to setup and deploy

What do you like best? Microsoft does the patching for you as long as you properly setup affinity. No down time for your servers in that model. It is quick to deploy new servers when needed and to configure them to be fault tolerant. What do you dislike? VPN setup is somewhat clunky and not intuitive to what they are looking for. Also, it is somewhat limiting in the number of subnets/servers supported. We also would have like more granular security in that we could allow you to ...

Possible game changer?

What do you like best? There is a ton of in ovation and buzz around how people are using Azure now in the industry. I also like how Azure supports both relational and NoSQL databases, and Big Data, through WZT and HDInsight. What do you dislike? There is a lack of various instance types or families to choose from. There aren't a ton of subscription options available too. Give users a free tier option as well so they can test drive their stack. The part that really turned me away was the ...

A developer Friendly Cloud with Excellent Tools

What do you like best? I've found Azure to be the most developer friendly cloud. It has excellent tools and makes it easy to follow "best practice" (queues, BLOB storage, continuous integration that are hard to follow with on-premises solutions. What do you dislike? The Microsoft marketing team seems intent on changing the name of products every couple years. Recommendations to others considering the product Take a bit of time to build small solutions using the different platforms (PaaS, ...

I lead a team of architects for a consulting practice focused on Azure and AWS.

What do you like best? All the cloud computing benefits along with tie in to MSFT products. What do you dislike? Too much focus on bundled offerings creates lacking IaaS features required by enterprise networking. Recommendations to others considering the product Its vital to do a cross-cloud comparison to ensure you are using the right tool for the job. Also dont be afraid to do a multi-cloud solution if that makes more sense. What business problems are you solving with the product? ...

Microsoft Azure experience

What do you like best? The part I most like about MS Azure is that it has significantly grown over year and currently offers a rich variety of cloud services that can be easily leveraged by developers for building cloud apps. The second best thing about Azure is that it can be easily managed using the portal and or powershell cmdlets. What do you dislike? Always the problem with evolving technologies , azure features change rapidly in short period of time, What business problems are ...
