"A valuable tool, but it can also be a nightmare for IT"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? This is a very easy to use tool that allows almost anyone to create a personal database without having to know how to program or have any DBA skills. It allows people to create reports and can be connected to other external data sources as well and it also provides the ability to create visual forms and add additional enhancements via VBA code for more advanced users. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? In this particular situation, ease ...

"Good for small implementations and relatively easy for non-IT users"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? It's a relatively easy to use database app that even non-technical users can get their feet wet with. The GUI helps guide users through creating tables, setting up forms, creating and storing queries, and more. Databases are easy to create, use, and move, being contained within a single file. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? It's mainly for very small applications. While Access can connect to external data sources, it's not advisable ...

"another successful MS tool"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? using the 2007 version, the design and setup is much nicer than previous versions. Templates readily available for novice users, and an easy access help and how to menu. Create your list of assets, run marketing projects and maintain expense reports (just to name a few of the many!). What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Very detailed and requires a lot of training to fully utilise all functions. When dealing with numbers the database can ...

"Mini DB which punches above its weight"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Access has long been a good entry point database tool Great for creating database system for management of records, files etc What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? the forms and entry screens are not a powerful as they could be Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access: Really good and cheap way into databases. "Easy to use without having to be a full programmer"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Easy to use and functional for basic database requirements. Can be shared and functional for general tasks. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Nothing really. I have built several DBs for form use and tracking and while there are sexier options MA is pretty decent. Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access: If you want a quick easy to use and cheat functional tool for basic db work I'd recommend this product.

"Good enough and very accessible database tool for non IT professional"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Easy to install, easy to use and visualize, you don't need to be a database expert to take advantage of it What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Not really a full blown database tool. Like any MS tool it makes assumptions when you use it (for example autocapitlization in word) and sometimes those assumptions can be a real obstacle when you need to use this as a real database. The first issue that comes to mind was my experience trying to ...

"Has its uses"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? I have used Access for a LONG time & I will say that it has its uses--it is a very dynamic database tool that can be used for a whole bunch of things. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? It is an on-premise tool that can get rather large. With Salesforce.com cloud and other solutions tailored to a specific solution, it is becoming a little bit less necessary. Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access: Watch your file size--I ...

"Basic database application integrated with MSOffice"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Easy-to-use database application that allows you to generate basic, structured queries on the data and to easily collect data with form(s) templates. Macros can be easily built and 2010 version allows for web publishing. It's easy to learn as well. It functions fine as front-end as well. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Not great for an enterprise-scale database, but works fine for small business applications. Recommend that you think ...

Report writing made easy. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? The constant changes from Microsoft with each version.
