"Access: Microsoft's One-Size-Fits-All Data Management and Analysis Solution"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? It can literally do anything with data and become an integral part of the ETL data process for SQL-based servers, so long as the data are properly structured. Even if you have problem data (don't we all) its query functions and integration with Visual Basic (VB) allow the development of complex and powerful scripts within a Windows/DOS environment to QC and "clean" data. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Wholly dependent upon SQL ...

"Data Entry for Research"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? This is a very simple and easy to use tool, when you need to feed in data entry for research work. I have used it extensively in my research data entry work and find it user friendly. Also you could create reports which can be run by users at any time. It is also a choice of option when you have multiple users working on the data at the same time. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? When you scale up the size of the data and when in bulk ...

"Easy database for noobs"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Since everyone is aware of Windows, Ms Access becomes a mandatory tool for creating an efficient database. Easy to create tables and Forms. Since the UI is almost same as other office tools they provide, learning becomes easy. Lot of free sample applications on microsoft marketplace. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Script part has to be revisited. Since writing script is not everyone's piece of cake, often people will have to hire ...

"Great Entry Level Database Tool"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Access is pretty easy to use. You don't have to be a DBA. There are many built in functions that help you build a table or a query without really having to know how it works. You can also create some very nice applications and reports without having to purchase add-ons. Great integration to excel to import or export data. You are limited to data size. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? I didn't find anything that I dislike. Access has ...

"Database Simple and Pure"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Of the many businesses I have worked for all have one thing in common. They track data in a spreadsheet. Access takes Data analysis to a new level. Many people don't know that if built correctly your database can cross reference between many fields of data and generate reports, this automates much of the manual work involved in tracking and compiling data into information through a spreadsheet. This is a great, great tool. What do you dislike ...

"Good learning DB, as long as you only have a few data records "
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Good learning curve to use SQL logic and put data together in different ad hoc reports. Definitely useful for a business/tech user with some SQL knowledge and not too much data to analyze What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? It has much poorer performance than the DB engine from FoxPro back in the day, and from SQL Server or most any other available DB today. When migrating the reports from Access to SAP Crystal Reports, we achieved up to ...

"A much better product than people give credit for"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Excellent query builder. You can build some complex reports out of Access without ever touching SQL. Great for data modeling new databases. You can connect to it with OleDB to build your own interface to an Access database. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? The query builder will rearrange your SQL, so any SQL you type in eventually gets distorted. 2GB limitation on the database. You can't run SQL scripts, you have to script using ...

"Exellent tool for small databases"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Ease of use (once you get it figured out). The ability to have a database and all associated forms to enter and retrieve data right at your finger tips. It does take some time to learn how to use the software, but once you figure it out, it seems the customizations are endless. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? The size limit (2GB) of database that you can have. Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access: Use it for small ...
