"Can be used for a variety of business needs"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? I've used Access in several positions to eliminate process duplication and automate workflow. It can serve as a bridge between silos of data and queries and macros can be created to automate tasks. I also like that users of my databases can simply interact with a simple form and trigger tasks easily. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Older versions made it very easy to import text files from a static location on a network drive and ...

"Great but slow"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Importing datasheets is easy. Allows you to use excel spreadsheets as database live, so you can edit the sheet and query data from it. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Sluggish. I wish it ran faster. Also, refreshing your database is annoying when you use spreadsheets for data because modifying your data source is cumbersome. What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you? I use it to query information faster ...

"Microsoft Access Unfriendly, difficult and extremely unstable to revisions of software"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? I like the possibility of writing my own database What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Microsoft Access is written by buffs who don't understand that others are not at their level. Access 2003 is a good program and has help screens built in. Access 2007 is supposed to convert Access 2003 databases. It converts them and saves with no warning so that your early version is now lost. The new version does not work. A look at the experiences of ...

"Better than it used to be, but not the best solution for me."
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Templates! Not only the built in templates, but since Access is such a popular database tool, the amount of templates that can be found online and modified to suit your needs is endless. I also appreciate the ease with which you can now build web-apps. Like the templates, there is a ton of tutorials and examples out there for these as well. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? While they have made creating web-apps super easy for any ...

"Great Desktop level Database."
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? The simplicity of use is MS Access' biggest friend. Its low cost entry point makes it ideal to be used for home users as well as Small Business users. Its user interface is easy to use and helps you create simple databases for your business needs. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? MS Access is primarily a desktop database; that means its meant primarily for a single user. It can be shared over the network for other users as well, but ...

"Databasing for Dummies"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? MS Access provides a user-friendly interface for data management, suitable for non-technical individuals and groups. The graphical interface for setting up queries allows for drag-and-drop functionality, which decreases the time necessary to manipulate and visualize data. MS Access will generate the SQL in the background, allowing those without SQL experience the ability to manage their database on the fly. VB scripting is also integrated into ...

"Very archaic and not too user friendly but gets the job done"
What do you like best about Microsoft Access? The layout and flexibility. Also it can import from other sources. It can also interact with other products of the Microsoft Office suite in a seamless way. I like the help menu with the paper clip even though others don't care too much about it. The paper clip makes mundane tasks seem a bit more lively when dealing with the mass amount of data. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? It can slow things down depending on the size of the data ...
