"Highly recommend Access to manage data"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Access has been a useful tool to manage large databases of research inputs. I like utilizing the query system and how it allows you to create new databases in a way that ensures you will not lose data. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? There isn't anything that I particularly dislike with this program. It was a little tricky to learn at first but once you get the hang of it and determine how you want to use it, it's quite ...

"I use Microsoft Access on a semi regular basis in my department of 650+ staff, faculty, and students"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Ease of installation and comparability between the rest of the Microsoft family of products. Even first time users can reasonably navigate through the menus. As our university at the upper level of IT has bought a site license for the product, it doesn't cost us anything to use the product. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Generating reports definitely has a learning curve to it, and can cause new users some rightful frustrations. As ...

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? The GUI allows you to create pretty useful queries without any SQL knowledge What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Sometimes it is difficult to keep track of how changes to one query or table may impact all the queries that are related when you have a lot of queries built on top of each other. What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you? Makes reporting from Salesforce a lot easier in certain situations.

"Good for less technical users"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? The graphical interface is easy to use. It provides a good visual representation of what actions are taking place, what tables are being utilized, and what relationships exist between datasets. Developing VBA scripts and Macros makes automation of tasks relatively easy. This was particularly useful before I was allowed to scheduled stored procedures directly onto our SQL Server. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? Writing SQL in Access ...

"Excellent platform to upload, analyze, and share data"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Access is user-friendly, but does require some basic training to manage the query system. I did not have any trouble adapting to the system at work. It is also strongly versatile. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? I've tried to complete some tasks that require a great deal of training. Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access: I recommend having a training session for all those who will be utilizing it. What problems is ...

"Awesome Database Tool - Do Pretty Much Anything You Want With it!"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? This is an amazing program. Very easy to use and learn - and once you pick it up, you can do anything ranging from creating a simple database system, to something very advanced and integrated throughout your company. Even better, it can be integrated into other software (e.g. ArcGIS). What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? There is a time commitment to using this - especially when you get into building your own database. It also requires a ...
