"Does what it attempts to do, and does it well"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Understood generally as a graphical tool for databases, and snubbed by DBAs, I'd like to think of Access as a tool to make tools. That could be as simple as table+query setup, or building a full-fledged, user-friendly front-end application. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? I wish it supported a pure version of the Transact-SQL language, instead of having its own dialect. What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that ...

"Steep Learning Curve, But Unmatched Utility"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? This program allows you to put in the work one time to create a database for literally anything, and you can go back again and again, year after year, using that database to keep your business and projects organized, documented, and moving forward. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? The process of creating a database for the first time is tough, and there is a steep learning curve for this software. It is unbelievably useful in business ...

"Access is very customizable"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? We can get Access to do what we need to keep track of customer accounts and invoices. It is a great tool and we love that is Microsoft. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? We had to move to another platform that could handle automated order processing directly from the customer's fingertips, through our invoicing platform and completed with barely any human contact. What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting ...

"Hate this evil program"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Nothing. I liked NOTHING about this program. Perhaps it is because I was taught on a slightly older version, but it was deeply flawed and did not work properly. It kept crashing, and would not work right at all, in spite of having a specialist in this program on hand. I refused to work with it after about 3 months. I only (sometimes) touch other people's files if they still use it if I must, and there are not many of us. What do you dislike ...

"Easy to program, easy to use, very customizable"

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? We created a custom, proprietary CRM using Microsoft Access, coded in HTML. It has amazing benefits because it is shared among the team and can sync so we all are updated on each others' entries. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? I sometimes have trouble syncing it and I am not sure whether that is an HTML issue or Access. What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you? It is amazing - we are able to track ...

What do you like best about Microsoft Access? Microsoft Access has multiple fields where you can enter information. You can have a parent company and subsidiaries. You can link documents to contacts. What do you dislike about Microsoft Access? I wish contacts could be sorted by last name. It would also be cool if Access could pull a photo from somebody's LinkedIn.
