"Wonderful RDB"

What do you like best about MariaDB? That they pried MySQL out of Oracle's ugly clutches. What do you dislike about MariaDB? That MySQL still exists and people still use it despite knowing that it's owned by a horrible organization that will betray them. What problems is MariaDB solving and how is that benefiting you? I've used MySQL based solutions for almost my entire career. This is a reliable product.

What do you like best about MariaDB? The Development of MariaDB is more open and Vibrant as compared to MySQL and the simple reason is that MariaDB is open source while MySQL is owned by Oracle. What do you like best about MariaDB? Upgrading from MySQL 5 to MariaDB provided much better features and functionality. What do you dislike about MariaDB? Upgrading version instructions were not very clear. What problems is MariaDB solving and how is that benefiting you? I use MariaDB for undergraduate database system and applications course.

"MariaDB is a great alternative to vanilla MySQL"

What do you like best about MariaDB? I like that MariaDB is maintained by a community-based foundation as opposed to being owned by a larger corporation, especially one that maintains another major relational database system, Oracle. What do you dislike about MariaDB? Lacks some of the more "fancy" features of other, more established relational databases like MSSQL and Oracle. What do you like best about MariaDB? Ease of setup & Maintenance. No licensing is cherry on the cake. Very responsive to ransactional data. What do you dislike about MariaDB? Scalability issues when the data goes in higher TB's range. Also, sometimes we have faced certain issues with data replication. What problems is MariaDB solving and how is that benefiting you? Most of our metadata and lookup tables sits in Maria DB. Also, lot of softwares like cloudera uses Maria DB as backend

What do you like best about MariaDB? FREE. No kidding, a database server this awesome and free pretty much sums it up. Needless to say the stability of MariaDB is phenomenal. What do you dislike about MariaDB? It's very hard to find what to dislike about MariaDB, i guess just the fact that it's not as scaleable like the NoSQL counterparts?
