"Built a full featured Magento site for an employer"

It has basically unlimited customization for a developer that knows what they're doing. There are a lot of integrations with external services, and you can even accept Bitcoin with it! "A steep learning curve, but it's worth it"
What do you like best about Magento Open Source? It's flexibility - it can be used for practically everything. It's by default pretty slow and required a lot of hardware and caching to make it usable. The optimizing itself is a pretty fun challenge though, one I personally like. Recommendations to others considering ...

"Good ecommerce solution if you have a knowledgeable development partner"
What do you like best about Magento Open Source?
