Good quick responses if you need help. I will probably get premium eventually, just need to make more games 1st, oh and learn to use the tool better.

Powerful but abstract...
Machinations is an extremely powerful tool, and very useful for modeling how complex systems will operate over time. Unfortunately, it is also very abstract and very dense. It will take some time to get used to modeling your systems with it. If you can get past the learning cliff, though, you will use it for virtually every system you ever model.

I first saw Machinations 9 years ago…
I first saw Machinations 9 years ago and I have been a huge fan of this tool since then. Back in the day it was a .swf file and a 300+ long textbook - now it's a modern online platform with a super friendly community, tons of tutorials, webinars and online collaboration. The team is very responsive and you can learn and experiment for free

Awesome learning tool for new Game designer

Excellent tool to test out game mechanics
Excellent tool to test out game mechanics of any type. I used it to simulate multiple runs of a game in development which needed to be balanced and saved me so much time. The entry level of knowledge is a bit high and you have to get used to the way of thinking and building even the simplest mechanic, but it's definitely worth the time spent to learn it
