Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"We live by Loom in our company"

What do you like best about Loom? A picture is worth a thousand words. A Loom is worth a thousand pictures. Video is the best way to explain a problem or report on analytics. Saves tons of time not having to wave our hands to describe something or send tons of annotated screenshots. Loom is the way. What do you dislike about Loom? Organizing the videos as SOPs in our company could always be better, although they've been making great strides with improving this UX in their app. What problems ...

I think they should have a plugin for firefox also, similar like chrome. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Video communication with team members

"Life Changing"

What do you like best about Loom? Love how easy it is to use. Love having the choice of video or just image (on days I don't look so great). Love that it gives a personal aspect to sharing information vs. just typing in text. Love how easy it is to share. What do you dislike about Loom? Probably the cost. It's not cheap. But I still see the benefit, especially if it makes the difference in a proposal being accepted or not. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting ...

"Easy to use and makes complicated concepts simple!"

What do you like best about Loom? I've been using Loom since I started my current job nearly two years ago. It has been an essential tool as a CSM for communicating complicated ideas to clients, providing walkthroughs, or even presenting Quarterly Business Review items on the go. Especially when I am busy and do not have time for a call, Loom helps me to get the idea across in a way that would not otherwise be successful by email. Loom has also helped me to prompt a call from clients who ...

Nothing, it has been great so far so I don't have any complaints. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Helping us ...

What do you like best about Loom? Very user friendly. Software developers put a lot of thoughts into it. What do you dislike about Loom? Nothing so far. Everything is good. I wish there were some more drawing capabilities, including ability to upload images, adding ability to add text, intro title & end credit. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Communicating and teaching

"Loom - a tool I like"

What do you like best about Loom? It saves Meeting time. It saves e-mail time. Finding the right format for communication, is more important than most realize. I love having video as an option. What do you dislike about Loom? I worry that leadership at my company would not trust a third party holding sensitive business data on the cloud. Not sure what you could do about that. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Saving time, providing another format
