Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Loom makes remote work possible"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom is an intuitive tool! I love having the chrome extension to enable a recording quickly. I have coworkers that work in vastly different timezones than I do, so Loom helps bridge that gap while still providing the right level of support & training to them. I also love that you can record video & screen or screen only! What do you dislike about Loom? I wish there were more capabilities to edit the videos. There are times when creating a video that I ...

"Owner Operator Real Estate Photographer Pro"

What do you like best about Loom? Instead of writing a long email to share an idea or a solution, I can use the Loom system to record thoughts and illustrate the ideas. The Loom system is also great for documenting systems and sharing them with others to follow a step-by-step process. What do you dislike about Loom? Not sure if I can help in this category seems like everything in the system I like so far. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Recording ideas and ...

"Makes sharing information so easy"

What do you like best about Loom? Before Loom, I used to end up on way too many calls where I was contacted to enable someone or otherwise share information. Most of these calls were repetitive, and though I could point people to available documentation, the documentation often wasn't helpful enough. Now when I get questions that are better answered with a live walk-through, I can typically send over a Loom that I already have in my library. It saves me hours every week. What do you dislike ...

"Making remote work easier and more human"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom has made collaboration much easier for our teams, especially with folks spread across time zones or working hours. Rather than long emails or slack messages about our work, we can quickly record a loom and share it with others to watch when they have time. It's also been great for repeating content – rather than copying and pasting a block of text, or recreating something from scratch, some more 'instructional' looms have been helpful to reuse and ...

"Easy to record and share!"

What do you like best about Loom? What I like the best is how I can quickly record a video message, or tutorial, and share it fast with my groups. I also love the social aspect of it - leaving comments and reacting with emojis! What do you dislike about Loom? What I dislike about Loom are its video editing capabilities. It is clunky and not as intuitive. I have had to click on editing a few times to make sure the editor opens correctly. What problems is Loom solving and how is that ...

"I recommend Loom to anyone that needs to record processes and relay complex information"

What do you like best about Loom? It is very easy to use.Loom has helped take our processes to an entirely new level. I don't know what I would do without loom because without it I wouldn't be nearly as productive. It reduces emails back and forth and creates a connection with customers when I show them how to do something. I like that it notifies me when it is seen so I can follow up with customers to see if they have any questions. What do you dislike about Loom? I wish the desktop app ...

"Great tool for recording meetings."

What do you like best about Loom? With Loom, we can record our meetings and then share them with others who have action items. Often with meetings, they can blur together so we make it a practice to review the last meeting before our next contact to make sure that we are always prepared. What do you dislike about Loom? Loom does what it sets out to do. However, there have been times there the transcript is not as powerful as what I have seen with other tools in the market. I have also had ...
