Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Great Product"

What do you like best about Loom? I love using Loom to provide support to my clients. I will record a video to walk them through any questions they may have. What do you dislike about Loom? Currently, there isn't anything that I dislike about Loom. It's meeting all of my needs as a business owner. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Loom is helping to solve client experience issues. Sometimes sending a response to a problem doesn't work for a client as some people ...

"Loom has changed our workflow!"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom's ease of use is unbeatable. Loom does not slow down your computer and will always provide extra context when needed. The platform has saved us endless time. What do you dislike about Loom? Their sharing setting could be further explained. I found out that we can password-protect videos after using the platform for some time. Also, the have limitations w/r/t features (e.g. they do not have expiring links). What problems is Loom solving and how is that ...

"Great tool for asynchronous work."

What do you like best about Loom? Three points: -Ability to talk in a more detailed view to slides to a wide audience. -Ability to walk through a ux problem in app and pose a question to my team. -Ability to see engagement on which parts of a presentation are useful to people. What do you dislike about Loom? The editing experience could grow a bit more in capabilities; would love deeper functionality when it comes to editing the recording...some new features have launched but always looking ...

"Loom is perfect when you want to share your work with colleagues and clients"

What do you like best about Loom? I like that It is added as a browser extension, so I don't have to search for it whenever I need to record something. Most of my work is done on the browser, so having it as an extension is very convenient. The links are easily shareable with my clients, and I like that I can tell when a client watches the video I shared. What do you dislike about Loom? I cannot think of anything in particular that I do not like about loom. Sometimes it does give me a hard ...

"The best screen recording software!!"

What do you like best about Loom? I LOVE how simple it is. I've used other recording software in the past & it was overwhelming. I also love how I can trim right there in the dashboard & they have a share link to make sharing my videos with my video editor 100x easier (no need to download the video, and upload into Google Drive, just send the video link!) What do you dislike about Loom? Sometimes the desktop app can be a little bit glitchy, especially when I try to pause my recording and ...

"Loom gives me back so much time!"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom allows me to lead a global team while working asynchronously and able to get more done. I can record messages for my team to watch on their own time and rewatch as much as they need! What do you dislike about Loom? I want Loom to be able to remember my recording preferences. Specifically only sharing my screen vs screen and camera. But otherwise the tool is an absolute 10! What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Its solving the ...

"Loom is the only video software I use"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom offers the most "bang for the buck" in video hosting as well as screen recording software. It's the only video software I use. What do you dislike about Loom? I wish the editor was more robust. I do sometimes have to use another software for more complex edits. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? I work remotely with my clients, so I need to be able to share video with them on a daily basis. It provides a very cost-effective ...

"Loom makes quick video creation fast and easy!"

What do you like best about Loom? My team works with helping to onboard, train, and support customers as well as create demo videos. Loom allows us to create, edit and send videos to them quickly and even upload them to our support and training data base. We also use Loom to collaborate internally and share content across our remote company base. What do you dislike about Loom? I always forget to label my videos and it defaults to the screen I am displaying with the date and time. My day is ...
