Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Adds personality to presentations"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom is a great way to add a personality to a presentation. I like how it allows me to have a live feed of my webcam in the corner while I present from a PowerPoint presentation. What do you dislike about Loom? It is a great program, but as a 'light' user, I would appreciate a free limited option or a 'pay-as-you-go' option so I do not have to pay monthly subscriptions when I am not using the software. What problems is Loom solving and how is that ...

"Love Loom"

What do you like best about Loom? It's super easy to use to record short or long videos. It's also easy to edit and send out. Has a nice chrome extension for quick access but the website itself has a lot more functionality to look at your loom library. We also use it as a company so we can easily share our library of videos with one another. What do you dislike about Loom? The only downside is not being able to flip between just recording your face to recording your screen in the same video ...

"Loom was good and it meets the needs of this small business."

What do you like best about Loom? That it was simple to use with a browser extension during the pandemic. I utilized Loom from their site AND from a Chrome browser extension which made recording and sharing information with clients very simple. That they can view the videos without having to log in is also a plus - many don't want to create yet another account somewhere in order to just watch a video. What do you dislike about Loom? There is not much that I do not like! This is an update to ...

"Quick and easy to record async meetings/demos and review comments"

What do you like best about Loom? Ease of use. Great job investing in the UX. It's delightful, and even the copy is really funny too. It is one of the tools that I'm impressed by because it's a SaaS tool but doesn't look hideous and isn't clunky. It's speedy and helps me communicate much faster. The simple bubble interface that displays me talking is amazing. Sharing is simple! What do you dislike about Loom? The downside is that ease and speed of use means more disorganization. Would be ...

I can record just the screen or I can record the screen and myself talking. It's versaltility is unmatched and I will always use this great software when coaching clients. What do you dislike about Loom? The only thing really is that if you don't have a paid subscription you are limited to five ...

"Save time"

What do you like best about Loom? Easy to use and you can save a lot of time by not having meetings What do you dislike about Loom? A couple of times I've recorded a loom video, I shared the link and the video doesn't work, you can see the image but it's impossible to play the video. As a Data Scientist, it is easier to record a video ...
