Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Easy and valuable product"

What do you like best about Loom? We can get our message across quickly and clearly. There is no unintended voice inflection like might happen in an email. What do you dislike about Loom? Very little. When I change the title, it automatically jumps to the end of the words. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Demonstrating where problems are in our new app to developers; demonstrating to our clients, how to use our app; team, meetings, and messages; clarity to vendors.

"Loom is great for creative collaboration"

What do you like best about Loom? I worked for a creative marketing agency. Before the pandemic, we worked in an open office space and had a culture that thrived on collaboration. That changed when we went remote during and after the pandemic. As a project manager, I struggled to communicate effectively with the graphic designers on projects. Then I found Loom! It made it so much easier to communicate and collaborate remotely. No more long-winded emails with lots of screenshots, no more ...

"Loom saves so much time and wasted energy"

What do you like best about Loom? I use Loom to train writers on our software, and I love how instead of scheduling a Zoom, I can send a quick video demonstrating exactly what the wrier needs.
