Spotsaas Editor’s POV
Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more
Loom pros and cons
Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.
By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.
Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.
The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.
Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Makes my screen sharing tutorials way easier"
What do you like best about Loom? I like how fast you can produce a demonstration video when you need someone to follow your steps without explaining in text. Right after recording, the video is processed simultaneously and you can readily send the link to the recorded video fo your screen to anyone instantly. Very nifty, especially when you are in a tight schedule, and you wanted to get your demonstrations across someone. I personally have done several tutorials, and I can send people ...

"User Friendly and Efficient"
What do you like best about Loom? It's incredibly easy to record training videos for team members and sales pitches for prospects. I was shocked that it's really as simple as clicking record and stop. What do you dislike about Loom? Nothing to dislike! I think it would be great to have the ability to draw on screen to aid presentations. I haven't dug through the system enough to know if that's currently offered (it very well may be a feature that I'm unaware of). Recommendations to others ...

"Easy to use and effective for short videos"
What do you like best about Loom? Loom is incredibly easy to use; even the most "technology-challenged" individual can learn how to make videos in under 10 minutes. I like that you have the option to record yourself while making the video; this makes the video personalized. I also like that you can select what elements of your screen get recorded, thus keeping the video "clean". What do you dislike about Loom? The video storage is a bit clunky and the interface isn't as sleek as it could ...
