Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Video messages revolutionize customer support."

What do you like best about Loom? Sometimes expressing ourselves and giving assistance is much more practical through an image or a video than just text, and Loom provides tools to carry a more fluid message, with a multiple recording function to establish a more personalized and efficient communication and support. I love how I can record my screen and simultaneously record myself explaining what I am doing, I can take advantage of my camera, the video on my screen and my audio at the same ...

"Perfect teaching and project communication tool"

What do you like best about Loom? A free application that allows you to record video--with face in a bubble--while explaining something on a screen. This is brilliant in terms of communication. Plus it can be connected to Slack. Love it. What do you dislike about Loom? Honestly, nothing. I am extremely impressed. Recommendations to others considering Loom: This is one of the easiest to use Videocapture tools I have seen, and the basics are free. There is an opportunity for branding at $12 a ...

"Excellent screen recording tool"

What do you like best about Loom? I love how intuitive Loom is. It makes screen recording simple. I also love the added ability to include yourself in the screen recording. This makes creating virtual lessons or step by step instructions more engaging as the viewer can see your face and not just the screen you are sharing. Of course you can just record yourself or the screen if you prefer not to be seen. What do you dislike about Loom? The only thing I dislike about loom is the limited ...

"Loom - making video captures easy"

What do you like best about Loom? The Mac app is very intuitive and makes creating video presentations not intimidating at all. Just click and share. What do you dislike about Loom? The landing page of the video capture needs improvements: like adding custom titles and maybe notes to it. Recommendations to others considering Loom: The paid version has a few extra options that make it worthwhile but for our organization it was not made a buying decision. So I still use the free version. What ...
