Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Screen Recording Made Easy"

What do you like best about Loom? I like that I can use the browser plugin or desktop app to quickly record a walkthrough or tutorial. What do you dislike about Loom? I do wish there was a way to remove the profile image and navigation buttons from the recordings. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Our team records several video walkthroughs a month. Loom made it simple to record from any screen. Loom has helped our team save hours on video and audio editing.

"Amazing for screen recording quality"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom is amazing for creating screen recording videos with microphone capabilities - but what's even better is that the Loom site and the app are linked so that it's easy for a content creator like me to take a smartphone screen recording, then use that video in a post template I am building in the computer What do you dislike about Loom? I wish there was a way to name the videos before they save to my feed - I end up doing a lot of takes and its hard to ...

It tells you when someone has seen the video or asked a question. It's a game changing tool and is so easy to use. What do you dislike about Loom? Sometimes the countdown is weird, so there's weird timing.. I wish you could crop/edit the video before publishing. "Great product - Friendly to use"

What do you like best about Loom? I love the way Loom allows you to stop your recording and record over bloopers. I used to use Zoom to record webinars, and it was so annoying when I made mistakes and couldn't go back and record over them. Loom provides that ability. Now, I'm able to spend less time recording my videos. What do you dislike about Loom? There isn't any that I don't like about Loom; it's overall a great product. I use it to record nothing else. "Extremely convenient app to record your screen and share it with people."

What do you like best about Loom? It's very light on the operating system and easy to use for anyone. You don't have to be a tech-savvy person to efficiently use Loom. Also, once you record a video it saves it in its cloud which means no storage in your system is used for storing your videos. What do you dislike about Loom? By default, it is set to switch on at start-up which is annoying. Also, once you close a video you are recording the app shuts down. It should have a master screen and ...
