Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Loom helps me to automize the teaching process of tasks for newcomers in our start-up, saves me time"

What do you like best about Loom? I love that Loom helps me to optimize my time spent on explaining things that I need to repeat - like giving some simple tasks to newcomers. Also, it helps me to work asynchronously with my teammates, especially with the engineers as a PM. What do you dislike about Loom? To be honest, I can't really think of something that I dislike about Loom for now. For me, Loom provides me with the features that I need, and I haven't lacked anything for ...

"This is one of the best recording software I have used"

What do you like best about Loom? The nicest part of Loom is its ability to use it seamlessly. With the chrome extension, it is quite easy to use. Also, sharing links for the video is quite handy too. Loved it. What do you dislike about Loom? What I dislike about it is, the free version has some limits which can be increased a bit. Other than that, it's the best software for recording videos. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? I particularly use Loom to share any ...

"Take your remote support to another level by Easily sharing video documentation"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom simplified our IT Helpdesk queries very much! Often we needed to remort-assist the technical questions manually. Apart from having written documentations! Recording and Uploading it on Youtube and then embedding it on the support page was time-consuming. With Loom, we could do all that by the time we finish recording; There's your link to share! What do you dislike about Loom? Even though it is a easy to use tool, often times we need to have more ...

"I use it for everything!"

What do you like best about Loom? It's simple, works, and gives me enough features to do almost everything I need to do. It's easy to share videos, do minor editing, and download the clips I need. What do you dislike about Loom? Most of the time when I'm using it, I get an error saying there's something wrong with the sound, but when I dismiss the error the recording goes along just fine. I also don't like that sometimes I'm not able to download my recordings, it can be frustrating after ...

"BEST virtual example show-er"

What do you like best about Loom? The fact that you can quickly record a video to explain something simple and send to someone for them to understand better what you are trying to explain overall. What do you dislike about Loom? There is a limit (for the free version) on the length of time you can record for, and I think it's 5 minutes. But if your explanation doesn't need to be long then this is perfect. Recommendations to others considering Loom: Watch the videos on how to use it. It is ...
