Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Perfect App for our Sales Team"

What do you like best about Loom? The system is amazing, you can record videos from anywhere, your mac, pc, and even the phone. With only cam, with cam and screen or just with the screen. And now with the new option that you could upload your own video, it's really good. What do you dislike about Loom? I think the app is very well made and design. Everthing for me it is really good. It runs automatically when my Mac restart, so i don't think for nothing wrong. What problems is Loom solving ...

"My #1 tool for individual and team productivity"

What do you like best about Loom? I love how easy Loom makes my ability to communicate effectively, better than I can in text or even on live calls, with my team and superiors. What do you dislike about Loom? I would like to see more mobile functionality, better video editing capabilities and improvements in filing options. Recommendations to others considering Loom: Instill in your team that this is the new main form of communication over scheduling calls/meetings. What problems is Loom ...

"Ideal for teaching and reference!"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom makes recording your screen SUPER easy! I can record it, send it to a client, and BOOM - they have a video showing them what to do. What do you dislike about Loom? I hope that folder sharing becomes a touch easier in future versions, and maybe notifications when new videos are added to a folder shared with me. Recommendations to others considering Loom: Loom truly makes screen recording super easy. The audio is clear. Clients can watch with or without ...

"Allow Teammates to Get Straight to the Point"

What do you like best about Loom? I like the simplicity of the platform best. What do you dislike about Loom? I dislike the fact that sometimes the Windows desktop version can be glitchy. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? The number one problem I am able to solve with Loom is the onboarding of new employees. I am able to generate a thorough library of training videos for us by all team members.

"A time saver"

What do you like best about Loom? I like that it's very easy to just click and record. The Chrome extension is more reliable than the desktop app. I like how easy I can share my screen and explain something and that video is available for future use so I have been building a knowledge base library which is already saving me time. A lot of people are visual learners so it's helpful for me to record a quick video than go back and forth via email or have to schedule a meeting just to explain ...

"Simply the best and most efficient way to communicate beyond an email"

What do you like best about Loom? The few steps it takes to get it going. You can start recording in just a few seconds once you have the extension set up. There's also the library you can use to share and give links that automatically copy your clipboard. What do you dislike about Loom? There really isn't anything to dislike if you're on the paid version which is very economical. On the free version, you eventually run out of room and are stuck so super short videos. What problems is Loom ...

"Up level your customer service"

What do you like best about Loom? I've been using Loom for a few years now and my customers LOVE it! They're surprised & delighted! I use the Chrome extension and Google extension and it makes using loom easy and efficient. What do you dislike about Loom? I don't have a downside of using loom. Maybe I would recommend having an adjustable bubble instead of the three generic options. But in the grand scheme of things that doesn't matter. What problems is Loom solving and how is that ...
