Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Advocate of Loom"

What do you like best about Loom? Just the simple ability to share my screen to demonstrate a feature What do you dislike about Loom? I haven't found anything not to like. Anything I have wanted to do, I've been able to do. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Being able to teach a program on my computer and showing the step by step processes is much easier than trying to explain it over the phone

"Loom is great, Loom is good, and Loom is crazy... convenient"

What do you like best about Loom? I like Loom best. It is a convenient way to explain something to someone. I like how you can react and comment on certain points, and I enjoy getting notifications for when someone has watched my video. I use it for work and occasionally personal life. So much better than writing out a novel when it can take me a few seconds or minutes to explain something while sharing my screen. I wish I could Loom this review. What do you dislike about Loom? Feels like I ...

"Loom is easy, impactful, and fast!"

What do you like best about Loom? I love that I can simply click a button to bring up Loom and then hit record to share my message. My clients LOVE that I convey complicated messages/details easily by shooting a quick 30-90 second loom. In fact, I've even brought on a few customers for Loom as a result! What do you dislike about Loom? TBH, nothing. The fact that Loom makes it easy to shoot and share makes this a winning tool for my job and business. What problems is Loom solving and how is ...

"Loom is a vital part if my business!"

What do you like best about Loom? I love how easy it is to use. My favorite feature is the browser extension. I love how I can start a recording quickly from anywhere. I also have the desktop application, and I love to use that one when I want really high-quality resolution. What do you dislike about Loom? I only wish there was a way to share an entire folder and not just individual videos. I would love the ability to send a link for someone to view all videos in a folder. What problems is ...

"Game changing video sharing software"

What do you like best about Loom? I love the ease, and sharability Loom has created for users and business owners. I make a lot of videos for team members and share links in slack. Looms are now how we share weekly client reports. What do you dislike about Loom? Loom used to be free but I realized how much I used it so the investment was a no-brainer for me. I would love to be able to track drop off rates and engagement rates for each video on the paid plan. What problems is Loom solving ...

"I've gotten many clients from using Loom"

What do you like best about Loom? I love using Loom to share my screen and show my potential clients what my business looks like by taking them on a tour. They not only get to see what the screens look like, but they also get to see a bit about me and my personality to see if they can see themselves working with me. I've gotten lots of clients this way. What do you dislike about Loom? There's so many ways to share the Loom video I sometimes get confused about which way. I need to learn more ...
