Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Loom| One of the best recording software"

What do you like best about Loom? I recently came across Loom software for video recording and screen recording and my experience with it has been exceptional. I used it to record training videos for the employees for Machine Learning and the result has been incredible. There are options of screen recording with camera on or off, sound recording and it also gives excellent video and audio quality. What do you dislike about Loom? The software is a bit pricey and sometimes take a long time to ...

"Good recording tool"

What do you like best about Loom? It is straightforward to use the tool for recording. On top of that, some extensions and plugins make their job a lot easier. What do you dislike about Loom? Nothing so far, to be honest. It is a tool that does what it is meant to do. Very happy with it so far. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? We were trying to avoid unnecessary meetings, especially for demos and walkthroughs. We believe these can be conducted asynchronously, ...

"Loom Leads the Way Premium Video Messages"

What do you like best about Loom? Ease of use. Loom is simply the easiest way to record and send a quick video message. I especially love the simple editing process to quickly and easily snip out anything I don't want in my final video. What do you dislike about Loom? I wish I could add a little bit more branding to my video landing page than just my company logo. It would be nice to have the ability to spice up the look by using my brand colors. Recommendations to others considering ...

"Great tool for sales prospecting. best way to get a personal and timely touch to a prospect."

What do you like best about Loom? For me, their is only so much personalization in email, cold calls, and linkedin messages. Creating a personal loom for a prospect is a great way to get attention and share why it could be a helpful conversation. What do you dislike about Loom? I wish I could cut and edit the loom. So if I create one for an account, I can record over or change according to their title and the "why you, why now" but still keeping the body of it Recommendations to others ...

"Best screen recorder for work"

What do you like best about Loom? It's very straightforward and easy to use. I normally record my screen, send videos with my team, and is pretty helpful for teams that work across different time zones, where you don't usually have meetings. It is also a handy tool for sending videos to clients who need support. What do you dislike about Loom? Not much to dislike here. It has all the things one requires. One complaint I have is, that it becomes laggy sometimes on even my latest Macbook. All ...
