Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Cannot live without!"

What do you like best about Loom? It's very user-friendly and easy to use. What do you dislike about Loom? There is nothing I dislike. The software is very easy to use. I guess if I had a suggestion would be to allow me to title the video quickly rather than scroll below the video first. I tend to be in a hurry to share and forget to title it. Recommendations to others considering Loom: Go ahead and try it out. You will be happy you did! Great trial period. What problems is Loom solving and ...

"Easy to use and one of my favorite tools!"

What do you like best about Loom? I love how easy it is to start recording a video right on my desktop or from the mobile app. I create Loom videos for our software's Help Desk and give personalized technical support videos to customers, which they always love. What do you dislike about Loom? I would like more editing capabilities for videos, but there is a chance that is a part of an upgrade that I do not have. Also depending on how fast I am moving, the videos do not always upload. What ...

"An excellent way to communicate internally and externally."

What do you like best about Loom? Loom makes it easy to work with your customers and provide content-rich updates and product demonstrations. You can scale repeatable communications and instruction guides by capturing videos and sharing them quickly. What do you dislike about Loom? The new editing functionality saves a lot of time and used to be a big pain point. It would be very useful to be able to create quick GIFs instead of just videos What problems is Loom solving and how is that ...

"A new way to Keep things Simple and Personalized"

What do you like best about Loom? I really enjoy how quick is it to pull loom from the Chrome extension and easily use it to send a brief training video or introduction to a client. What do you dislike about Loom? I dislike that I have a 5 minute limit, but that may be related to my permissions that I can request to have updated. Recommendations to others considering Loom: It's currently the fastest and simplest way to send personalized videos in the smallest amount of clicks. Before this I ...

"Chrome Extension Sketchy"

What do you like best about Loom? I like to use Loom to send introductions and explainer videos in Gmail. This "video in Gmail" integration is a differentiator, gets my emails read, and makes me stand apart in a very positive way. What do you dislike about Loom? I do not like the unreliability of the Chrome extension. I do not like having to repeatedly uninstall and reinstall the Chrome extension. It is the most annoying thing about Loom. I have learned how to work around it, but it is an ...

"Super easy and fast way to share screenshots & screen recordings with Loom"

What do you like best about Loom? I love how convenient the plugin is to start recording a video, or shoot a screenshot, and then be notified when the person I've sent it to watches/views it. What do you dislike about Loom? Sometimes the plugin can crash and has to be restarted, which is annoying, but it does not happen all that often. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Client and team communication videos, as well as shooting troubleshooting videos when I need to ...
