Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Does the job perfectly"

What do you like best about Loom? Easy to use, especially when starting a video recording. Easy to share and works great also with Slack. What do you dislike about Loom? Time limit on starter plan but also great amount of free videos on this plan. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Avoid video calls by explaining something and sharing it to the team. Makes me more productive by saving me a lot of time.

I love the editing tool however it is a bit glitchy in my experience. There have been times where I have spent a good 10 min stitching a video together but then it crashes and I have to start over.
