Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Simple and effective"

What do you like best about Loom? Just what you need to make short screen recording and pitches, made simple and effective. Online recordings are easy to share with peers. Simpler to me than PPT recording. What do you dislike about Loom? It is only available for windows, and the video takes as default name the one of an open tab. Probably it should ask for a name before recording? Anyway you can edit it. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? Pitch and video demo recording

"I use Loom a lot in my work."

What do you like best about Loom? I liked Loom because there is a video recording functionality. This is a useful tool in my work as a QA person. I need to be able to present proof or test evidence to support the findings I encounter during testing activities. What do you dislike about Loom? I encounter instances wherein the video that I uploaded is unsuccessful. But I will only find out about it when the "Uploading" status does not change for quite some time. I wish there is a more ...

"Loom brings the simplification of the Professor's life"
