Spotsaas Editor’s POV

Loom has completely transformed the way I communicate with my team and clients. Instead of scheduling back-to-back meetings, I can now record concise, engaging video messages that my colleagues can watch on their own time. The ability to share my screen while adding narration and visual cues has been a game changer for clarity and productivity. I particularly ...Read more

Loom pros and cons

  • Loom is widely appreciated for its user-friendly interface that allows professionals to quickly record and share videos without technical barriers. Its Chrome extension, desktop, and mobile apps make screen and camera recording accessible from any device.

  • By enabling asynchronous video messaging, Loom helps organizations reduce the need for lengthy meetings, streamlining communication and boosting productivity across remote and hybrid teams.

  • Users benefit from Loom’s intuitive editor, which allows trimming, stitching, and adding visual elements like arrows, text, and overlays, resulting in more polished and engaging content.

  • The platform enhances engagement with built-in features such as emojis, comments, transcripts, and closed captions in over 50 languages, making global collaboration easier.

  • Since Loom is designed primarily for asynchronous communication, it lacks robust real-time collaboration features compared to platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

  • Free accounts often face restrictions on video length, storage, and advanced features, which may require teams to upgrade for more comprehensive use.

"Great idea, buggy experience on Windows"

What do you like best about Loom? Quick camera + mic + screen recording is helpful, but the real benefit is the automatic upload. I have a link that I can send my clients as soon as I'm done filming. What do you dislike about Loom? Using this on Windows has been one of the buggiest software experiences I've ever had. The app will load with a blacked out screen. Sometimes it will visually load but I won't get a countdown. The biggest issue I had was being unable to uninstall the program to ...

"Smooth and intuitive"

What do you like best about Loom? Its a really good product, with a very nice amount of trial period time to get used to the tool before committing to using it. Clipchamp is also quite similar, but i found the quality of recording on loom slightly higher What do you dislike about Loom? I found it a little hard to get help using the virtual chat, it would be good if this was somewhere i could chat to an actual person instead of virtual responses. What problems is Loom solving and how is that ...

When you see a Loom, the clock of remaining time its a little distractor. (Not when you're recording, of course but when you or others see the loom) What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? "I rarely write reviews, but Loom is awesome"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom makes it super simple to add a compelling story to what I am selling or presenting. It's honestly opened so many doors when it comes to building relationships and showing that we know what we're doing. What do you dislike about Loom? There are no downsides to Loom - it works seamelessly and is easy to share. What problems is Loom solving and how is that benefiting you? What do you like best about Loom? Loom has an incredibly easy interface and a quick start-up. The videos are readily accessible by end users without login. What do you dislike about Loom? None. "Keeps getting better"

What do you like best about Loom? Loom saves time (for highly productive people) and energy (for the introverted people✌🏼), and the amount of times Loom has cleared up confusion is unprecedented. I would argue that it's even more productive than meetings especially for a fully remote team. You Loom so large in my heart, Loom 🔥 What do you dislike about Loom? Okay, hear me out...
