What is LiteLLM?

LiteLLM is an open-source Python SDK and proxy server that accepts requests in OpenAI's format and forwards them to more than 100 model providers, so application code keeps one request shape when the underlying model changes. The proxy adds virtual API keys per team, spend budgets, rate limits, retry and fallback chains across providers, and request logging to the backends a team already runs. The enterprise build adds single sign-on, audit logs and support. Used by platform teams who want one billing and access point in front of several model vendors.
