"Not an alternative, simply essential"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? LibreOffice provides everything I need in an office suite - Plus, its native format converts directly to GoogleDocs format when I upload to my Google Drive. What do you dislike about LibreOffice? LibreOffice doesn't do email or calendar... but I'm not sure it really needs to. Being open-source, the more responsible thing is to sidle up to other FOSS respectables who are already doing a good job. Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice: No ...

"Poor Man's Microsoft. That's a Good Thing"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? Affordability, first and foremost. Additionally, much like Google Docs, you retain MS Office-like integrity, and you have a file at the end of the day that can be saved into a Windows Explorer folder without any comparative fuss or muss. What do you dislike about LibreOffice? The LibreOffice version of PowerPoint is a bit less unwieldy. You feel like you're jumping through a few loopholes to do comparatively basic things. Moreover, your fonts and ...

"LibreOffice does the job"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? The menus say on screen at the top and it is easy to find the functions I need. Primarily I use Writer and Calc. Both respond well and don't seem to comsume that much memory. What do you dislike about LibreOffice? Occasionally, some docx documents from the latest version of Word do not format correctly. But the data is there and it is not too difficult to reformat it properly. Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice: If you have used ...

"Libreoffice renders Microsoft Office obsolete!"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? The price and the knowledge that in using LibreOffice I'm actually supporting the open source movement! What do you dislike about LibreOffice? As an open sourced solution there are definitely intricacies and some quirky features, where perhaps things are not as streamlined as Microsoft Office, but if you learn how the platform works, you can quickly find that you can do everything you require. Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice: Do it! ...

"Easy to navigate"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? I like that you can hover the mouse over any of the small icons and it will tell you what they are. What do you dislike about LibreOffice? If I pull something up from my email it doesn’t always pull up the correct format. What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you? I am able to do something called care plans more efficiently, we used to hand write them in.

"a good open source MS office alternative"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? A very good alternative to expensive Microsoft office packages. Shares most of the good points to the parent software "open office" that is more familiar. Runs very well on older machines compared to new MS office - which can be a boon to non-profits / small-business that often run older machines. There is now a Impress (powerpoint) remote for phone app available - which is nice. However it only runs well if your wifi is good. I like that it has both ...

"Gets the job done"

What do you like best about LibreOffice? I like the price, I like the full package and that it opens multiple file types. I haven't had any problem with bugs either, which I would expect from a free software package. The document editor is particularly good. It is very nice to be able to access my old files from when I had Microsoft products. What do you dislike about LibreOffice? When I try to do things that are a little fancier I run into trouble -- formatting tables (which I'm very ...
