"Another battlefront in the tech war with kids."

What do you like best about LanSchool? Kids see avoiding lanschool as a tech challenge. I used to like the sound bite from the game doom that happened whenever you opened a student window. Griff Pope provides excellent tech support I like the tech console. What do you dislike about LanSchool? Lanschool report server is still very poor. Almost an afterthought. Unable to effectively sort event by date. Drilling into student behaviour is critical in investigating incidents. Compare with ...

"We have used LanSchool district wide for a few years now as we have gone to 1:1 (student to laptop)"

What do you like best about LanSchool? I like that I can monitor my students during an online test What do you dislike about LanSchool? We have issues with computers not issued by our district (student provided) What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you? Being able to use the lock-down browser has solved cheating issues that we have been concerned about.

"39 Pc's"

What do you like best about LanSchool? It's great being able able to centrally monitor, limit program & site access and broadcast content to specific screens. It does help enormously differentiating a lesson while have everyone actively involved and on topic. What do you dislike about LanSchool? You are constantly subject to the whims and woes of your internet throughput. You will have to exit from the teacher console every few hours (I suspect because of RAM utilization) or deal with an ...

"Teachers love Lanschool But There Are A Few Bugs"

What do you like best about LanSchool? Teachers love being able to view student desktops and freeze their screens at will. What do you dislike about LanSchool? Unfortunately we pretty much deal with student screens showing "Updating" about once a year that takes awhile to resolve. What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you? Lanschool gives student accountability. When they know that the teacher is looking at what they are doing, they are more apt to stay on task.

"Lanschool is a great product!"

What do you like best about LanSchool? Ability of use, love to be able to view all students at once and capture what they are doing. What do you dislike about LanSchool? Sometimes freezes up when trying to access the student screen What problems is LanSchool solving and how is that benefiting you? Ability to monitor students in the classroom, to take over control of their computers from my desk, and to project my screen to thiers.

"I Got Catfished - A Love/Hate Story"

What do you like best about LanSchool? Absolutely able to monitor (most) students’ computers and interact with them via instant message. For me, this is a life saver. Instead of calling a kid out in front of the entire class, I can message them directly and screenshot their screens, etc. Interacting with a student via instant message/chat often deescalates the situation, and that’s a win in my book. What do you dislike about LanSchool? At my previous school, we had the full version of ...

"Makes life easier"

What do you like best about LanSchool? LanSchool is easy for my teachers to use and me to setup. What do you dislike about LanSchool? Teacher console is installed application on windows/mac machine and not a webpage (internal or external). I know LanSchool air does this, but I like it hosted internally. Recommendations to others considering LanSchool: Evaluate the system to be sure it fits your needs. If you are a Clever district you should definitely look into integrating LanSchool with ...

"educational"

What do you like best about LanSchool? For the requirements of our k-12 district, by far we find Student Lab management to be the most useful feature of LANschool. The ability to simultaneously log in any number of machines at once is frankly invaluable. "Log on selected machines" is easily the most used feature for me. What do you dislike about LanSchool? There are many upsides to LANschool, but if I had to point out a shortcoming, it would be the occasional freezing, especially when ...

"Good Classroom management software"

What do you like best about LanSchool? Teachers can view students' screens and control their attention better using this software. Works on any platform (Mac, Windows, ChromeOS). Love how Lenovo is including a license with their Chromebooks. What do you dislike about LanSchool? Wishing it were easier to configure for teachers, functionality on chromeOS is limited (Google's fault not Lanschool's). Recommendations to others considering LanSchool: Check out other options but this is a good ...
