Overall great experience with a robust set of development tools
What do you like best? I like the ability to remotely debug java services as well as the ability use it for other languages including scala. What do you dislike? The integration with maven seemed to function slightly different than I was used to from the command line. This could have been a configuration issue on my part. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Developing a microservice written using various java / scala libraries.

Getting better all the time
What do you like best? Great features; plugins for everything I need. What do you dislike? The cost of a commercial license prohibits purchase for personal use. Recommendations to others considering the product Find a way to purchase IDEA Ultimate. It's pricey at $500 for the first year, $400 for the second, and $300/year for the third and subsequent years, but I was wasting more of my companies resources on hours lost to fighting Eclipse before transitioning - you'll realize well over ...

Great IDE for Java/AEM Development
What do you like best? It finishes package names, variables, etc for you and adds imports for classes you use. I also like Intellivault so I can do frontend development without rebuilding my package. What do you dislike? Not too much actually. I think a feature to detect errors in the pom.xml files would be nice, and my coworkers have had varied success with intellivault so making it simpler to set up would be good. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits ...

Best IDE so far
What do you like best? Easy installation. Very easy to navigate and get it running. This product was introduced when most of our team was using Visual Studio for developing .net applications and making move towards Java. This helped our team to make this gradual shift. This IDE is supported in Mac OS and Windows so this helped bridge the gap of both users. This also has built in support for plugins. What do you dislike? Some of the short cuts can be improved and integration with GIT. ...

Forget about eclipse - intelliJ Idea is the best
What do you like best? Starting from the look and feel and ease of operation, this is the best in the market for software development. Best thing, if you have a project in the system, just open the folder and you are set to go - no burden on importing extra packages, configuring nature and perspective. What do you dislike? Each time for different modules, you will have to open a new window rather than stacking up in the same window, unless you add maven projects. What business problems ...

Heavyweight IDE full of features for multiple languages
What do you like best? Has many advanced features that you'd expect from a full fledged IDE, has all the bells and whistles. What do you dislike? Super heavy, in both disk size and memory consumption. Recommendations to others considering the product Adjust the memory settings to give it more memory access. IntelliJ has great documentation for all the different platforms. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Higher productivity and ...
