IntelliJ IDEA

What do you like best? In IntelliJ IDEA I like the best that it has strong support for a lot of programing languages. And of course it contains a lot of useful feature, which could make developers life easier. What do you dislike? Sometimes IntelliJ IDEA could be slow, especially if you have to use 2 IDEA at the same time. And the initial indexing time of newly imported projects could be extremely slow in lot of cases. Recommendations to others considering the product Lot more user ...

Great IDE for Java

What do you like best? This IDE makes it simple to setup or import any Java project What do you dislike? The tasks and contexts plugin codbe a little more flexible. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? The standard IDE for our Java projects used to be Eclipse. Because this is open source and has great Enterprise licensing, our team has a lot more flexibility and stability working with our code.

One of if not the best IDEA for java

What do you like best? I'm a java programmer specialised mostly on android programming although when I'm not working on that scope I definitely prefer using IntelliJ IDEA over other IDEs such as Eclipse or Netbeans. It's mostly personal preference but I really like the layout and the way it looks, can easily get the required imports and code suggestions by pressing ALT+ENTER and pressing SHIFT two times allows for searching about anything on the project: search for code content from all ...

Best Java IDE

What do you like best? I love how IntelliJ knows which libraries to import for you, without you importing them yourself. By far, i think this feature saves me the most time. What do you dislike? I dislike the slow indexing it has on large products. Sometimes the indexing can take 5-10 minutes. Recommendations to others considering the product If you want a Java programming to be easier, IntelliJ is the way to go. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have ...

so simple to use

What do you like best? Easy to setup. Scala projects were almost as easy as java. What do you dislike? Docs alone don't always quite answer your question, but typically they're easily google-able. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Easier to work on projects containing both scala and java code (or either separately, honestly.

Excellent IDE for software development

What do you like best? I find IntelliJ to be very user friendly. From the first time I used it more than 15 years ago, its options seem natural to use. I don't normally have to search through a bunch of menus to figure out how it works. In addition, it has been quite aggressive in handling new languages and environments to keep up with changing technology. It has a free community edition which has most of the features of the full product. What do you dislike? Keeping up with the changes ...

Great development speed

What do you like best? Speed! I used this tool for J2EE development and was impressed by the support it provides to generate automatic code. I started my career with Eclipse but when I started using IntelliJ, I could not go back to using eclipse. What do you dislike? Eclipse was entirely free, but IntelliJ is not free completely. Community edition is free and Ultimate edition is paid. Community edition has limited features compared to Eclipse, hence I had to move to ultimate edition. ...
