Favorite IDE
What do you like best? Many features, very stable, super robust debugger. Updated frequently and is part of a great suite of tools. It works well with other JetBrains products. What do you dislike? Menus can be a bit complex to navigate sometimes. However, with the number of features packed into one IDE, I'm hesitant to say that the organization could be much better. There's a lot baked in. This IDE will swallow as much memory as possible in order to keep it running smoothly, so don't ...

Intellij IDEA is the best Java development environment around
What do you like best? Intellij IDEA is very easy to use, and has great developer aids. The autocomplete for methods/variables is very useful. If you have the full version rather than the community edition then there are great things to help with server side development too. It works well with GIT (and other source control systems, which makes team work simpler. The code completion bits are very handy, for example just typing iter will give you the relevant "for loop" and even suggest ...

IntelliJ IDEA Review
What do you like best? Excellent debugging suite, good autocomplete and usage finding What do you dislike? Sometime autocomplete ignores formatting, and when editing the middle of a word, autocomplete just inserts the entire desired word instead of replacing it What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Customer delivery team code optimazation for The Home Depot. We have realized IntelliJ can be very useful most of the time but occasionally ...

The Gold Standard for IDE's, and My Team's Java IDE of Choice!
What do you like best? JetBrains continues to create the best, most easy-to-use while being the most robust and feature-laden IDE's on the market, and IntelliJ is no exception. IntelliJ and some of the other JetBrains applications share similar features and hotkeys, so it's easy to be able to switch between the different applications and not have to memorize shortcuts and functionality over and over again. What do you dislike? IntelliJ can take a while to load up depending on the size of ...

Riddled with bugs and slow
What do you like best? It's a jack of all trades. It has console logs, version control, and plugins. Unfortunately for IntelliJ these aren't unique features as their competitors also do these things What do you dislike? Incredibly slow for simple projects, bugs where Project folder structure vanishes, underlined error messages are simply wrong or say outdated information. Dragging file tabs can lead to crashes and temporary freezes. Recommendations to others considering the product Use ...

Fast, convenient, user-friendly crossplatfrom IDE
What do you like best? One of the main advantage of IntelliJ is that it has similar structure as other IDEs from JetBrain including but not limited to PyCharm. Also, as Android developer I use Android Studio which is essentially build on top of IntelliJ IDEA What do you dislike? The only thing that I dont like in IntelliJ IDEA is that it automatically opens last project. But sometimes I want to choose another project, or create new one. So I have to wait until project loads and close it. ...

Great IDE
What do you like best? Great IDE. good debugger, auto complete, feels lightweight while still having great feature such as git conflict resolution. sidebar is helpful in showing errors and warnings and the more I use it, the more I like it What do you dislike? seems like there's no way to enable auto-import. Sometimes build is out of sync with the command line, i.e. building a maven project in command line completes, but not in intellij. Need to manually sync which is annoying. ...
