De facto standard development environment

What do you like best? IntelliJ idea always knows in advance what I am going to type and saves a lot of time. Refactoring, moving classes around and any changes to project that would normally take ages to implement manually are fully automated. These are like million tiny details that make it the most productive IDE I have ever worked with. To give a simple example are automatically recognised colour codes in HTML and CSS with instant visual representation. What do you dislike? IntelliJ ...

The best Java IDE I've used

What do you like best? Ease of use! You can navigate around the classes using just hotkeys. And all of the project support that is built in is awesome too. Also, you can debug against any Java app server you want. I've done it all from Weblogic to Spring Boot to console apps and it all works flawlessly. Source control integration is pretty great too. What do you dislike? It can use a good bit of memory, but that's what happens with Java tools. Recommendations to others considering ...

Best IDE for Java development

What do you like best? I like the multiple version control integration, the automatic package installer, and the SSH tunnel interface. What do you dislike? It's a bit clunky. Every time the packages change it must update the project skeleton, which takes nonnegligible time. Recommendations to others considering the product You should definitely switch to IntelliJ if you're using another editor such as Eclipse or Netbeans. The support is broader, the functionality is greater, and the ...
