Powerful one stop solution for many programming languages
What do you like best? Works well for Java, Scala, Python (PyCharm. Same shortcuts work across languages. Understands Java ecosystem really well. What do you dislike? Default way of running process from IDE behaves differently than command line. Environment settings are sometimes hidden and need some digging to know. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Lot of coding, refactoring, reading, running and debugging in local environment.

Easy to use and easy to migrate to
What do you like best? Doesn't come with the self setup issues with eclipse as most of the tech that we used is already integrated with it. What do you dislike? Upgrades are not free and wish the pricing was better for individual developer usage as well. Recommendations to others considering the product Try it out. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Helps development and speeds up time in setting up an IDE.

Enjoyable coding environment
What do you like best? Intellij IDEA has a pretty decent plug-able environment which enables one to integrate different plugins. I specifically enjoy using Version Control Tool and their in-built Merge tool. What do you dislike? Sometimes Intellij IDEA takes up a lot of memory if it was running continuously for a while. It could be because I use debugger a lot which tends to take up memory. Recommendations to others considering the product This product is awesome! What business ...

The best Java IDE
What do you like best? IntelliJ has a find action feature that allows you to search for action s you might want to perform with the code or the IDE. The results also show the shortcut for that action for quick access. What do you dislike? The only problem I've faced with IntelliJ is that it runs quite slow on older machines. Given its features it needs a powerful machine to run smoothly. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I have ...

Best IDE for Java Developers
What do you like best? I love the fact that this IDE is fast. It indexes the files so well. Local code search is a breeze with this IDE. Very intuitive for developers. This made the transition from Eclipse to IntelliJ very easy. What do you dislike? IntelliJ updates can get buggy at times. This is frustrating when you have to wait for weeks for the bugfix patch to come out. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? I am performing ...

Comprehensive, full-featured, highly assistive.
What do you like best? IntelliJ provides very useful features such as dependency management, non-intrusive automatic formatting, auto-fill, suggestions, and a pretty solid environment management system. It recognizes most languages and build systems and has a variety of plugins for even better and broader support. What do you dislike? IntelliJ can be very slow on occasion, especially while rebuilding indexes after branch switches, or on initial launch. It also can crash if it has been ...

One of the best IDE's I've used in recent years
What do you like best? Snappy workflow. Dark streamlined UI that doesn't suck. I have faced issues with eclipse almost everyday. Even though there are solvable by workarounds to these problems, its always better to use a tool which is much more stable. What do you dislike? Nothing in particular but too many features are unavailable in free version. It would be even great if we can get at least basic server deployment feature on the free version Recommendations to others considering the ...

Awesome IDE for java
What do you like best? Intellij has plugins for automating almost everything Code browsing is super awesome Plugin development is amazing too I use this on a daily basis and I love this piece of software. It is great of you know how to use it. If you use open source technologies and Java this software can run automated tests, code coverage, static analysis as soon as you save the file and it is super amazing to see that instant feedback. Code browsing and deep diving into 3rd party ...
