So much power I don't know how to wield it

What do you like best? auto save is awesome, I love running terminal in my intellij window. configuring sdks is so easy, debugging features are great What do you dislike? I love intellij but there is so much you can do with it. It's overwhelming and i feel minor features sometimes get in the way of important ones you're trying to find. Recommendations to others considering the product Do it! You'll thank yourself later. What business problems are you solving with the product? What ...

Great for Java and Android development

What do you like best? - better application packaging than Eclipse - easy to find and install plugins - high customizability - sensible defaults - default code base search is good What do you dislike? - UI performance is still sluggish compared to Sublime Text or Vim - eats a LOT of ram, 1GB+ - font rendering isn't great on linux - long startup time Recommendations to others considering the product Remember to tweak your configuration to get better performance out of this ...

Everyday use of idea

What do you like best? easy to use, has a lot of built in functionality for an IDE. I also really like the debugging capabilities.. What do you dislike? Sometimes idea crashes and it needs to be updated quite frequently. I have had to re pull projects from source control because idea has compile issues but this doesn't happen very often. Recommendations to others considering the product I like it a lot more than eclipse and netbeans for java development What business problems are you ...

IDEA Review

What do you like best? I really like IDEA. It's super customizable, including the ability to customize the compilers you use. The default is javac, but you can switch to the Eclipse compiler. You can also download other compilers like SBT or AspectJ. I really like the "dark" theme - it's easier on the eyes. What do you dislike? You can't run a server through the IDE in the CE, which I understand but makes it difficult to trial properly. I also don't like that the "Make Project ...

What do you like best? personally I feel It is more stable than Eclipse, less chance stuck there and cannot let you do anything. And you can integrate Cursive into IntelliJ to support Clojure. What do you dislike? The convenient key does not make sense so that it is not convenient What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Building data pipeline for business strategy and core product performance evaluation

Completely changed they way we develop Java and front-end apps for the better

What do you like best? Code completion, easy navigation, plugins What do you dislike? Sometimes it can be a little heavy for the machine, but nothing compared to Eclipse. Recommendations to others considering the product Just give it a shot. If you are writing a Java/Scala/Kotlin/Javascript application, you should be considering to use or any other JetBrains IDE. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Developers productivity. IntelliJ ...

IntelliJ is fantastic

What do you like best? Ease of use, well documented, plenty of references online, and a multitude of various IDE's that are built on IntelliJ IDEA (such as PyCharm, WebStorm, etc that use the same base, but with different default settings and plugins, making it easy to get what you want without having to go through manually adding and modifying settings and plugins for days before you get it right. What do you dislike? I can't think of anything I truly don't like. I primarily use PyCharm ...

Pretty much what you'd want from an IDE

What do you like best? Search Everywhere and Action Finding are very useful features. Gradle integration is pretty good. Testing works well, too. What do you dislike? Dependency management can be tough. Build scripts outside the environment are needed for production purposes. Recommendations to others considering the product For Java, it's pretty much Eclipse or IntelliJ. They provide an almost identical suite of functions. So I'd recommend going with what your team uses. What business ...

Great IDE For Java

What do you like best? IntelliJ makes writing Java a lot easier than it would be on a regular text editor, and when compared to other IDEs I've found it to feel the most "light". The UI is very friendly and makes it easier to figure out how to use all the cool features IntelliJ has to offer. I especially like the ability to build forms for when I am forced to do some light GUI work What do you dislike? IntelliJ, like most IDEs, definitely has a little bit of a learning curve in the ...
