The best cross-language IDE.

What do you like best? Its onboarding process combined with JetBrains Toolbox make setup painless on a new system. What do you dislike? The amount of what I consider to be core functionality (e.g. NodeJS delegated to plugins Recommendations to others considering the product Even though JetBrains has discontinued their perpetual licenses, there still exists a perpetual fallback license. Better than I expected

What do you like best? IntelliJ's refactoring system is, hands down, the best I've used, when it comes to Java IDEs. Large strides have been made in Maven/Gradle support in more recent versions, and it shows. What do you dislike? Can't have multiple "projects" open in one window, and there's no apparent way to have multiple codebases open in a single window without creating multiple modules in one "project". What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you ...

Very Powerful Development Tool

What do you like best? I love that Intellij will hyperlink class and method names so that you can quickly jump to the source code. It will even decompile class files from libraries and whatnot so that you can view the source of what you're using. What do you dislike? Sometimes messing with the settings can be crazy because it's just so darn huge. It takes a bit of time to get acquainted with the project structure and everything, but it's still better than Eclipse in that way, in my ...

Best Java IDE in the market

What do you like best? IDEA is a very mature, stable, fast Java IDE. It integrates need-to-have technology (maven, git, web languages, ... very well and provides sophisticated solutions for most use cases I have. I was Eclipse user from version 1 to version 4.5 and can directly compare both IDEs. There are a number of annoying things in Eclipse like the long startup time especially after crashes before. When switching to IDEA those problems were gone. This is partly related to IDEAS ...
