There are lots of upset sellers…
There are lots of upset sellers reviewing fakespot because they've been found out for paying people to review their products with 5 star reviews. Shame on them is all I can say. Fakespot looks for repeat phrases used by reviewers to review multiple products by the same seller to determine that it's a fake review. Just because someone has a verified purchase doesn't mean they weren't paid for the review. I trust fakespot to do the hard work for me.

Can't rely on it at all
Dont Know what to make of this, I have it for ebay and just now a 100% good feedback seller got fakespot Warning. For Gawds sake how can that be? I dont remember how I came across this Fakespot, to install it on ebay. So I will ignore it from now on and look at the feedback myself, which I do anyway since Fakespot is giving some sellers with only 95% feed back no warning, a seller rating I wouldnt buy from. I cant trust this is a good thing to rely on at all.

Fakespot is terrible
Fakespot is terrible! I am an Amazon seller, and I 100% know that all my reviews are legit. Verified buyers. I also own a website and Etsy, and consistently get 5 star reviews. Fakespot is giving me Fs and Ds on these 4 and 5 star REAL reviewed products. Don't trust it...ever.

Their results are not true.
Fakespot are stating that 90%of my Amazon product reviews are fake!! I don't know how this could have such a ridiculous score as Amazon would have shut the listing down if this were the case. The vast majority of reviews are from "Verified Purchase" buyers. Making companies look bad for no reason. Ridiculous!

This website is so unreliable
This website is so unreliable. I tried to check a couple of products on Amazon and the links redirected me to a blank unlisted product.

Bad data on fake spot.
This actually happened in December 2022 but it was consistent behavior at that time. I have a seller on ebay that I have bought from several times, and it is my impression that they are a very responsible business. (Africa Direct, if anyone cares to look). Fakespot said they had many reviews mentioning "scam" or "fake tracking number" or questioning authenticity. I don't believe that about Africa Direct. I wrote a letter to fakespot at the time, and never heard from them.

The technology just isn't there
I appreciate them creating an algorithm like this as an experiment but simply put, the technology just isn't good enough as a genuine tool, and shouldn't be advertised as such. It's seemingly random in what it categorises, which is honestly kind of terrible considering how far advances in AI technology have gotten recently. And, probably the most baffling thing about this tool, what is the point of an AI that's supposed to pick up on human behaviour, when it's the one thing AI's can never ...

Completely Wrong Grade
I've used Fakespot for a couple of years now to avoid purchasing products with fake reviews and I regret it. I became an Amazon Seller a few months ago. I sell one product with four variations. The product has all legitimate reviews. Each review is marked by Amazon with either 'Varified Purchase' or 'Vine Customer Review of Free Product'. My product's Amazon rating is 4 stars but my Fakespot grade is F. When I analyzed my product's reviews on the Fakespot website, the review that it labeled ...

Who's checking the checkers?
I've seen situations where when they've "removed" the fake reviews, it lowers the rating of the product lower than what should be possible mathematically by the removal of those % of reviews. My experience seems to coincide with others who do not know why they are being flagged for having many fake reviews. The problem is that there is no transparency in their metrics, so you just have to "trust" them. That means it is impossible to corroborate their results.

would not trust them - Fake Company
their algorithm for determining what is and is not a fake review is messed up!! so many items you give a d and f rating are good items and defective bad items you give A ratings you must be paid by company's
