Fakespot is FAKE

Fakespot is FAKE. They claim to be able to tell if a website has legit reviews or not. Their software does nothing of the sort. I've tested it on various companies and have talked with companies about the reviews - of people who run the companies and they claim that the rating is bogus. This company isn't providing any value or service to society. What a waste of time.

Fakespot is a screwed up mess

Fakespot is a screwed up mess. I think they had good intentions at least at one time but they either have the most screwed up algorithms or else they have turned evil and are doing things for money. Either way, you can not continue to slander honest people and companies the way they do by getting things wrong whether on purpose for money or simply because they are a screwed up mess. I see a Class Action Lawsuit in the works for this company and that is a shame because there is a need for a ...

Fakespot is a steaming pile.

Unbelievable. As a small biz owner and new Amazon seller with only 8 ratings, I personally know each and every reviewer that has posted. Each user and review is 100% legit - yet Fakespot in its AI wisdom delivers an F. This tool is a detriment to the consumers it claims to be helping and delegitimizes honest manufacturers and sellers.

evaluation algorithm is very poor

I am seller on amazon and I can say I am one of honest seller. I dont pay for fake rewies and I know my competitors who pay for fake reviews. It would be very useful if Fakespot worked, but I can say with great responsibility that rating the quality of Amazon reviews is VERY inaccurate. Some of our products have a D rating (A is the best and F is the worst), and some of the biggest scammers have A or B ratings. Used evaluation algorithm is very poor and honest seller has no way to complain ...

Don't trust the 1 star reviews here, they are written by people who got an F grade on their product.

Very strange that there are wildly different reviews here about Fakespot.com??? That's because all the 1 star reviews are from companies who got an F grade on their product page for fake reviews. Fakespot.com is amazing, every time Fakespot gives an F...it lines up with the 1 star reviews of the product (5 star reviews are faked). It's very simple to spot fake reviews. Click on the RAVING 5 star reviews on Amazon, which strangely include tons of photos (who the heck takes photo of their ...

I'm an Amazon seller and we never used…

I'm an Amazon seller and we never used any paid reviews for our products on Amazon (unlike many other sellers). Our products always had an "A" review grade on Fakespot and I thought that was absolutely right because indeed 100% our product reviews are coming from our genuine customers. Today I came across the website and just checked our product review grades again and all of sudden the review grades became C, D, and F! I know that this is not true because again, we never use any paid ...

I formerly trusted Fakespot

I formerly trusted Fakespot. However, I just looked at a Kindle book with four 5-star reviews. All looked fake. The English was broken, and the the reviews were either somewhat nonsensical or irrelevant to a "how to" book. One review mentioned how engaging the cast of characters were for a book that has no characters. My best guess is that the fake reviewer is just recycling a review. I ran this suspect book's URL through Fakespot and it rated it an "A". I now feel I cannot trust Fakespot ...
