"All in one place"

What do you like best about Epic? Everything I need to do my job is one suite of software and everything seems to smoothly work together. It’s always at my fingertips. What do you dislike about Epic? It wasn’t the easiest software to learn. There are so many options and different tabs to go through. I feel like I’m using a small fraction of tools. What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? The business problems that were solved would be better efficiency in patient care. ...

"Best available software"

What do you like best about Epic? I've used a lot of different software for work, and this one is at least intuitive to some degree. If you get lost, you can pick out where to go by looking at descriptions. No need for command prompts or complicated instructions What do you dislike about Epic? So many functions and options, still requires learning curve and training. I got a bunch of inbasket messages intended for someone else with my same name. I don't know how to address them. A lot of ...

"Epic for Healthcare"

What do you like best about Epic? For millenials, fairly intuitive functionality. What do you dislike about Epic? Too many items hidden within headers such as running reports. What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? We use new columns within Epic to assess effectiveness of new interventions. We're using it now to determine whether early mobility in the ICU has positive effects on pt outcomes.

"Excellent electronic medical records software"

What do you like best about Epic? I love that it helps bridge between different healthcare professionals both within and outside of my workplace. I am able to see the patient's full medical record to better help them. What do you dislike about Epic? I wish that the notes section had more features like in Excel for calculating dates and amounts. What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? It helps me keep track of procedures billed to the insurance and the dates of service. ...

"Put up with some bad for a lot of good"

What do you like best about Epic? Epic is a fully integrated medical records software. It is obvious that they have put a lot of thought into the different components so that each is accessible in other areas. I appreciate the uniformity in use that allows actions to be completed quickly and efficiently. It is well thought out out such that all information is available with minimal distractions and without requiring a lot of clicking. One of the most useful features is care everywhere which ...

"Best of Charting"

What do you like best about Epic? Flows easily, customizable for each user (colors, flowsheets), standard from one hospital to the next, shortcuts such as t=today and n=now. What do you dislike about Epic? Plans of care and education leave a lot to be desired. There aren't really BETTER charting systems out there for those two things, but they aren't great in Epic either. Recommendations to others considering Epic: Do it! Will cut down on the time nurses spend charting so they can spend ...

"not the most intuitive but extremely functional"

What do you like best about Epic? EPIC isn't the most intuitive software to use, and it's a lot of work to learn how to use it. However, once you're used to this software, it's the most functional thing in the world. I love how customizable it is. I also love how I can quickly generate charts/graphs from a variety of datasets, without a lot of hassle. The screen can be a bit overwhelming to look at, but once you learn how to access the parts of the software you need, it's a breeze! What do ...

"An Efficient Way to Document and Track Patient Care "

What do you like best about Epic? Epic is easy to navigate and learn, well organized, and efficient. The system makes it possible to track daily patient care from a variety of providers and allows clinicians to stay on top of orders, precautions, and other important information. I have never had an issue with the system. What do you dislike about Epic? The interface of Epic could be a little more user friendly. Overall, functions are easy to be found by experienced and intermediate users, ...
