"Good for small practices, but great for larger ones"
What do you like best about Epic? Epic is a great healthcare system for large healthcare systems. It learns to anticipate preferences and arranged everything nicely to work off of a neat dashboard interface. What do you dislike about Epic? Epic can be used for smaller healthcare systems, but it seems to be better designed for larger ones. It can integrate up to 50 specialties, so to get the most value, it’s best for bigger systems. Other than that it works well. Recommendations to others ...

"Senior Medical Secretary: surgical scheduling, charge entry, patient tracking, appointments, phones,"
What do you like best about Epic? I like EMR's. I think identifiers are key to providing good care. It is also good that so many sources merge together to provide the best possible care. Excellent for surgical scheduling. What do you dislike about Epic? There are entirely too many clicks to maneuver quickly. Our Epic system is designed primarily for inpatient hospital, emergency rooms and doctor use. As an admin, I found ECW much better for scheduling outpatient appointments. At times, it ...

"My favorite emr so far"
What do you like best about Epic? I like the worklist and all the ways to communicate to the rest of the hospital from within epic, my old emr didn't have that! What do you dislike about Epic? I can't add patient specific things to the worklist, just general tasks. What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? It is a complete emr that has helped the hospital become more organized

"EMR for a multi hospital system"
What do you like best about Epic? Intraoperability across multiple facilities. What do you dislike about Epic? The company dictates the training process. Recommendations to others considering Epic: Be cautious about how much customization you want to implement at first. If part of a multi hospital system, agreeing to flowsheet changes can be challenging since they will be shared across all hospitals. Changes are slow to happen. Upgrades seem to happen monthly where there is a downtime ...
