"Ever Evolving Epic"
What do you like best about Epic? The program is Windows based and fairly simple to use. What do you dislike about Epic? As with everything, things change and evolve. Besides doing my nursing job, learning the nuances as they change is a challenge. What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? What do you like best about Epic? It is easy to use and navigate, particularly for someone who has just started using the program. There wasn't too much training I needed to undergo to understand using the product when I first started. What do you dislike about Epic? What do you like best about Epic? I like that it constantly changes to keep up with the changes in other programs. What do you dislike about Epic? Some of the changes seem like they don't listen to the user about what is helpful and not. With every update, the layout changes which can be confusing to follow. "Works very good aboce all, but several steps are needed"
What do you like best about Epic? Safety of patient's information. Very good vital signs integration over long periods time. Quick access to patients information in a not-so-cramped screen. Ease of communication with other providers Accessible to input information for clinical studies Works good with pharmacology warnings Accessible from almost everywhere, even home in a very secure environment. "Best that’s out there"
What do you like best about Epic? I enjoy the spread sheet style flow sheets with the ability to tab/enter through quickly as if you were in excel. What do you dislike about Epic? Each department uses EPIC sightly differently, ours has a good dedicated IT person that updates changes quickly. What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? The amount of time spent charting is improved with the ease of using EPIC.

"Epic makes communicating with other health systems easier"
What do you like best about Epic? Many health systems utilize epic, this makes it very easy to communicate with other health systems. In addition, epic is more intuitive compared to other EMR systems. What do you dislike about Epic? Epic's employees seem to have a high turn over rate (nothing they can control) but throughout the implementation process we'd have to always catch up new team members What problems is Epic solving and how is that benefiting you? What do you like best about Epic? User friendly and easy to use even for someone who is brand new. As someone connected to Patient Scheduling Epic was easy to learn. What do you dislike about Epic? Product can be slow at times and not update when needed. Recommendations to others considering Epic: I would recommend to become more integrated with the insurance pice of patient scheduling. What do you like best about Epic? Ability to access records across modules, and via CareEverywhere, you can access records from outside facilities instantly What do you dislike about Epic? There are a lot of customization and would need quite a bit of collaboration with front line user so the final product is useable. It is definitely a bit tougher for in-patient side of things.
