Good software but can be daunting for new users

What do you like best? Free, open source, lots of features and a rich plugin ecosystem. What do you dislike? Can be difficult to diagnose issues when running on outdated OS (RHEL6). Can be slow to start and can hang sometimes when using, but the stability has improved over the years.
