Dynatrace pros and cons
By providing real-time data with detailed breakdowns, Dynatrace allows for quicker identification and resolution of performance issues, reducing downtime and improving service reliability.
Dynatrace measures every step of the user experience, allowing businesses to track all aspects of application performance across the entire user journey, not just isolated metrics.
With intuitive and context-aware dashboards, Dynatrace presents data in a way that’s easy to understand, making it simpler for teams to spot and address performance bottlenecks.
The software automatically captures comprehensive application data, including beyond the standard metrics, providing deeper insights into performance and helping businesses address issues proactively.
Dynatrace’s pricing may not be affordable for smaller businesses or startups, as it’s designed more for large enterprises, making it less accessible for budget-conscious organizations.
Due to its comprehensive monitoring capabilities, Dynatrace can be resource-heavy, potentially putting a strain on system performance, especially in environments with limited resources.

Great product, but very expensive
What do you like best? Ease of deployment and updates is phenomenal. AI agent actually works vs just hype. Integration with AWS works great. What do you dislike? Really the only downside I've found is price. It's very expensive compared to others which means I wasn't able to monitor anything but prod and couldn't take advantage of features like RUM to the degree I would have preferred. Recommendations to others considering the product: Make sure you understand your pricing going ...

Immediate Wins out of the Box
What do you like best? As a new user, I appreciate it's support for transaction ids, automatic discovery of services (mesh and otherwise) , inventory, etc which makes it trivial to see some immediate results. What do you dislike? As a new user, Dynatrace has an extensive feature set and a steep learning curve. Would like to see more breakout sessions focusing on low hanging fruit when first installing and using the product. What problems are you solving with the product? What ...

Gone are the days where Infrastructure was first to blame for everything - Dynatrace provides a clear visualization of where problems lie and even suggests possible resolution. Empowering our users - from devops to marketing; management to procurement- to self-service has also freed up resourcing that can be better spent elsewhere. So great! What do you dislike?
